What is this plastic strip on the door sill of my JDM Fit?

What is this plastic strip on the door sill of my JDM Fit?
It’s stuck on with adhesive and almost certainly aftermarket. The fabric strip in center is soft like a cleaning cloth. I am stumped. Thanks.

Aftermarket accessory. Just remove it.

Like most Japanese accessories it's probably designed to make smoking in your car even cooler.
