Chrome delete - but with colors: trashy or no?

I'm thinking of ways to spruce up my white fit a little more, color wise! The fit doesn't have much chrome, so I am thinking about doing a "chrome delete" in blue. I've had very mixed reactions from my friends, and most of the negative reactions were from people with a LOT of chrome trim and a crazy sports cars. So now I'm asking my fellow fit owners what you think!

I'm eventually going to wrap my car in either a matte white or ghost pearl, so I used a photo from modification art, and photoshopped blue trim onto it.

let's talk about it! Are the rims too much? Yes, I will totally disassemble the headlights for the sake of continuity! Speaking of continuity, should the break lights be turned into transparent break lights? Or should I toss the whole idea and just do blue pinstriping along the sides?

Personally not my cup of tea... But if you like it, ultimately it's your car and it should reflect your tastes and personality... Who cares what I think? There are certain 'dated' looks, like the old gymkhana inspired 3 x neutral colored rims and 1 x brightly colored rim look, and transparent brake lights (euro style tail ilghts from the late 90s/early 00s) but if you like it, who cares? I think the worst thing you can do, is make it poor quality. Any mods that look amateurish are universally agreed to look bad. But even mods that I didn't think I'd like, if done professionally, end up looking great! Even if your car looks like a complete ricer, if it looks done well, it may not look great to everyone, but will still look like the owner has more money than f*ks to give, which is its own weird flex.

I think the only things that I would actively advise against are any mods that may affect safety. I don't like overly stance-d vehicles, smoked out tail lights which reduce visibility, and tints that are so dark they restrict driver view. But again, just try not to break laws, do whatever mods you do well (quality over quantity), and make it reflect your tastes.

These are really good points. Saw a silver colored car with clear taillights today, and yeah, I'll leave that mod for the red cars! I definitely prioritize safety, and at this point in time, have no plans to make any performance mods. The only thing I might do close to a "real" mod is make a flush fitment. Otherwise, I just want my fit to look a little bit more sporty, I guess. Do you have photos or links to the car you were talking about with the rims? I tried to see if I could find "colored" chrome online, but it was only neutral colors haha

Do it! Cars without modifications are boring and lame. Have fun with it! and most of all, make it look nice.
