Honda /Nisson merger
Honda /Nisson merger
this might be a little off topic but , it looks like Honda Nisson merger is is official . i wonder how if this will affect parts supplies for discontinued models ?
I'm not sure I'd call it official since they have a lot of hurdles to jump.
"They aim to have a formal merger agreement by June and to complete the deal and list the holding company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by August 2026, he said. "
I don't see this affecting parts supplies on discontinued models, certainly not Hondas
It will however accelerate the push away from gas cars to electric ones.

Well in the case of Nissan the poor quality is already there. They are reportedly headed for bankruptcy and are in desperate need of financial help. A merger could probably finally result in their Jatco transmission division being tossed into the garbage can where it belongs.
I used to rent cars multiple times weekly, Travelled like 46 weeks a year for work. Hertz bought a ton of the Altima with CVT. I had 5 of them fail due to the CVT transmission computer getting confused and shutting the engine down. Had to have them tow the car .
I finally went to Hertz corporate and talked to a retention specialist and got the Nissan products banned in my profile,
Besides the 5 trans problems, I had one that the trunk lid came off of driving on the freeway,
One that just turned off on a curvy mountain road in the dark went totally electrically dead,,
which turns off the power steering and you get about 2 pumps on the breaks.
My first car was a 65 Datsun Pickup ,, IMHO last decent rig they made.. LOL
a few years back my mom had to rent a small Nisson , i believe it was a Versa . my brother and i gave the car a good going over . never have
seen such a cheaply made car , i mean seriously cheap , from front to back . a golf cart is what came to mind

Interesting to read your experienced. You have different models there in North-America, but here in Eurooe Nissans used to be considered as reliable japanese cars as much as Toyota, Mitsubishi or Honda. In general, the interior materials and painting in non-visible areas are inferior to European cars in all japanese cars.
