More unlikely GK pics

Mother's Day yesterday. Was on my usual double-shift and what does the wife do??? Hunkers down to the Honda dealership and takes pics (to surprise me) of a well-hidden, just PDI'd 2015 Honda Fit EX-CVT in Alabaster Silver.

Sales person was exceedingly nice, but was under strict instructions, no test drive yet. "Come back in a week" was the line of the day.

Out of the pics she took with her Iphone, choose a few that may be of interest since I didn't catch them in any posts yet (although JasontheHondaPro's video went through some quickly).

REar - at least we know that EX's will come standard with the rear bumper applique (update: this won't happen for free)

Bluetooth - was able to get her Iphone to play music. Wife actually liked the brightness of the screen and felt that the volume disp;ay controls for the radio was not an irritant. (Personally, I don't agree. A volume knob is way easier to search for while driving - LX here I come!!)

Storage - only one glove box but its spacious enough

Sunroof control and door activation light switch

EX seat fabric pattern - reeks of quality. Wonder what the LX will be like?

Front - we all know what this looks like

Best side shot she took with the tight storage space

Am getting those red JDM badges. Already know that the front is exactly the same as the '09-'11 Civics (same part #). The rear is completely different. Here are pics of the exact measurements:

With only 2 '13's left in their online inventory, guess I may go next week and give it a test drive (if I can get off my shifts). But knowing that my LX is still months away, there is no urgency, plus that fact that I'm not buying from this dealer anyways.

One thing my wife commented on was that she felt the door was way more solid than our GD. Gotta be the higher level of insulation on the EX's. Not holding my hopes high that the LX will be the same, but then I really don't know cause never seen or touched one yet!!!

Her female conclusion: She's happy for me that I'm so excited to replace our GD Fit. She can't wait for her niece to get our '08. She will leave me to do whatever I want to the GK as long as I stay within her approved budget and don't take away her Lexus!!!!! Hell, I pay for the gas bill anyways!!!!

Our fellow FF from Texas (Emirii) should be out with his thread once he gets his delivery sometime this week.

Many thanks OP. This one even has the side door molding on it. Not too bad but wish it were better.

Thanks!
It is encouraging to actually see a car on the dealers lot.

Did they have anything to say about the delay in official on sale date?

Unfortunately, the wife knows that I log onto FF like mad at work but she is not really a car person (although, one of the few females on the island who can still drive a M/T).
She did mention that the sales guy indicated someone on our island is already driving one as they sold the first one late last month. No pricing discussed as there was no test drive. Expect the current delay to evaporate by next week (at least for this dealer).
Between us boys, even if she did drive it, her impressions would be nowhere near that of AccordintakeGuy, ColinS or JapanTragic!!!!

They're OEM window visors. Those are definitely add-ons. This dealer is getting ready to ask way over MSRP but putting on extra OEM parts.
That rear bumper applique plus the door mouldings most probably are add-ons and not standard. That goes too for the aftermarket tinted windows.
Crafty, very crafty indeed. The never-ending wonders of the car retailing industry!!!!

They are out there... just hidden. I don't feel like driving 120 miles to go to the other dealer and sweet eyes them into seeing if they have any in the back.

I contacted the few dealers around (there's only about 3 within 250 miles of me) and they will be getting theirs *very* shortly (I really had to make sure my dealer want leading me on haha)

I wonder if I can get them to throw in floor mats or something, one can wish right?! Or I can just find them online for 100$.

I am also think about the interior illumination and the back hatch applique seems like a good idea, because on my 2007 it's all scratched up!!

Are the windows tinted? Is that an option?

Those door side mouldings look like crap the way they curve upwards towards the rear doors.

Rest of the car looks pretty decent, EX's come standard with all that protection stuff? I hope not cause that scuff guard on the front and rear wheel well lip, the rear applique, and the side mouldings I could do without.

The front and rear are bareable but the side view with the "door slot" ay caramba! What were they thinking? Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder as they say!

You talk of fumbling for a volume control while driving, but isn't that steering wheel mounted?

The Fit always looked somewhat like a badger on wheels, but now, the transformation is complete! The Mexican badger, by Honda! Japantragic's RS looks pretty cool though, doesn't have the ugly USDM front end.

Not a good color. The door side molding is bad. I never liked it on the Fit anyway and now it's a no brainer. I never like the top window shades either. It does nothing to add to the look- it takes away from it. There again, never liked it on a Ft anyway. I think what I'm missing most of all is the sport trim on the bottom sides. Without it, it looks like a base model. Really nice to post pics and thank you for that, but these have been the first unflattering ones I've seen that make me say...no.

since the car has such little profit they have added about 900 in accessories. Rear bumper applique, side molding fender lining, Door visors, window tint, And I would guess All season floor mats, cargo tray as well.

All along I have anticipated Honda dealers adding on needless accessories and it appears this is beginning to happen. Honda dealers have been the worse at tacking on junk add-ons just to bump up the price. Looks like my fears are being realized.

Mmmmmm.... wonder if I can get that to work in my GE8 with the sunglass holder... looks like it might just pop out and fit in.
I'm sure I can get the sunroof controls & Navi mic to work with mine.... or just look for an older version which will definitely work & matching color..

Typically this happens for the people who"have to have it first" Once inventory flows and they are getting a normal allocation it will stop. Many time they actually do NOT want to sell the car with stuff on it right away so they can have ojne in stock.
