The dealer(Goudy Honda) called me today asking if I am still interested in the 15' Fit Ex, and I said yes but asked if they even have it. They don't have it and saying it should come in within a couple weeks. And I asked about blue color, and they can only say, they will contact me once there is a blue.... so, back to waiting

 

Local dealer in Anchorage has also called me about them, but also stating couple of weeks.

My husband and I are going to wait until we can see what accessories (hoping some kind of kit or HFP items) and then do a custom order for one.

I saw a red 2015 Fit with a California plate driving south on I-95 in Philly this afternoon.

 

A 2015 Fit with California plate...in Philly?

My Magic 8 Ball says "Very Doubtful". To have CA plates, that car would have to have been sold and registered at least 6 weeks ago. A privately owned Fit from California for that long seems unlikely, and threatens my record, so I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Unless it was a demo car from the press event a couple of months ago. That event was held in San Diego, so maybe a corporate car that was registered in CA? And making the rounds to train dealers. That's it...that's got to be it...tell me that's it.

Approximately two weeks ago, I saw a 2015 Fit EX in Red with California plates parked next to the entrance at Norris Ford in Baltimore. The sales manager said it belonged to a corporate "rep" and I asked if I could sit in it. He said yes, but it was locked. He said I could wait until he was out of his "training meeting" and he'd probably let me have a see. I went about my business.

Forgive me for countering the explanation that makes the most sense to you; however, a red 2015 Fit on a Pennsylvania highway is not a far cry from the same Fit I saw a couple weeks ago in parked at a Baltimore dealership for an hour or two. I'm certain your explanation makes much more sense to you, and it's all good. I won't be buying a CVT Fit, and the wife can't drive a stick, so in my case, it's basically curiosity more than anything. Most likely my '09 Fit Sport Auto with Nav was my first and last Fit. It was far from perfect, but I still miss the car. Only car I was able to drive for nearly 2 years and 30K miles, and was still able to retrieve the bulk of my expenditure from the insurane company without a big to do.

It would appear these red EX's boutht by early retain owners and driven by company exec's may "post-prototype" cars returned to Mexico to be made "right" from a quality standpoint. Hence, I know that red California plated 2015 Fit EX's do exist, for what little it's worth they are company owned cars.

Just kidding! You could very well be right. I would be surprised if I stumbled onto the very first sale. Or else these are corporate perk cars for Honda execs. But that would have been months ago if the cars had normal (not dealer) tags. Maybe these were the cars that prompted the pre-release recall. Clever, those Honda people...

Regardless, I say "RELEASE THE CARS!!"

 

Brian, have you been back to the dealership to see if the other Fit they had has sold?

 

Honda has a manufacturer/Distributor license plate California 3421. They have hundreds of them and put them on press cars, dealer training cars and such. So the car was registered to Honda and was being used by press or someone who works for Honda.

 

No, I've been too busy driving, taking pictures, and posting.

They said it was already sold, but if someone wants a black EX automatic it may be worth a quick call.

 

Quick correction- Piazza Honda's in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. Not Ardmore. Sorry, I went to so many Honda dealers in one day I started to get mixed up.

 

If someone spots a white one please post pictures - i'm torn between red and white right now.

 

I sat in a 2015 fit a few weeks ago red EX...was aloud to start put in reverse but not move it. Was told a rep was sent down to train sale people and the 2015 fit was there for people to check out..for a short time.

I saw one this morning! A silver EX on I94 just east of Madison, Wisconsin. It was heading east, I was going west into town. At a quick glance, it looks good!
