On the actual Honda page, sometimes they use the term "driver" and sometimes "owner" so I am curious about that as we share cars. Also, if reimbursement requires you to be at least 100 miles away from your primary residence, I wonder if some of the other services require that too. That is the rule on the roadside assistance that came with my credit card. The main part I do not like is you have to be towed to a dealership. I would not pay dealership prices for a repair. Also if I was in the middle of nowhere I wouldn't want my car towed all the way to a dealership, I'd want it repaired as close by as possible.
But, hey, it's free

Strange Honda is announcing this today when Fit's were supposed to go on sale 2 months ago. Wonder if they took them back to install the OnStar like software and or hardware, especially since this is for all 2015 models.
There is no on-star or similar hardware. The service works off you making a 1-800 call from your cell phone. But it is not like on-star with a built in indenpendant wireless communicator.
It doesn't seem much different than the AAA coverage that many folks already have. I wonder if it has some sort of "after three years we start bleeding your credit card" clause attached?
I'm not really interested in warranties and roadside assistance. I want a car that doesn't need these!

With my car stuck in sand yesterday in the Anza Borrego desert, I thought I'd give Honda Roadside Assistance and their free offer on my 2 month old Fit a try. You get what you pay for. Though the agent was cordial enough on the phone they would only send a tow truck that I had to pay for, being on a residential dirt road and all. I gave up and called AAA, and even though they had to dispatch a truck from fifty miles away, there were no issues and no cost. Honda Roadside Assistance? Never again.

I used their Roadside Assistance for the first time a couple of weeks ago for a dead battery (the interior light had remained on for a couple of days while car was parked in my driveway). The service was prompt, efficient, and hassle-free - happy camper.
