No doubts!

When my other car died, and I started looking at Fits (oh, about 6-7 weeks ago), I was really considering getting a 2013 or a used Fit. And then we heard about the 2015s and the new options, design changes, etc. So we waited. SO glad that we waited!!
I just dropped off my 2015 EX-L for tint and trim stuff and the loaner car is a 2013 Fit Sport. It's so not the same! It's revvy and the seats aren't my smooth leather, and it just feels different and cheaper.

sigh....hurry up, service dept! I miss my baby gray whale!

The feel of the old ones is a lot better, but the fit and finish is not. Driving the old one is a lot more fun. I wish they had kept that feeling with the new ones.

What exactly makes it more fun to drive? I havent driven either, but heard about the steering being more sensitive, and the ride a little "rougher."

It's peppier, better handling. Just seems to have more umph to it. The CVT is very disconnecting, even when using the paddle shifters.

A lot of the reviews were right when saying it's just not as fun of an experience anymore.

I'm going for a manual, so hopefully I'll be a little better off than with a CVT, I think?

A big part of the handling is the crappy tires the Fit comes with. We relegated the 16" stock wheels to winter (Bridgestone Blizzak) duty and installed lightweight 17" Enkei Racing wheels and summer-only tires. Besides having more grip and better steering response, the car is much less sensitive to crosswinds and buffeting from tractor trailers on the highway.

I suspect the 2015 Fit will be equally transformed by better tires.

Sorry, but I completely disagree. I went from a 2009 Sport AT to a 2015 CVT and I think the new car is hands down a better performer. Faster at the start, stronger acceleration, still reserve at high speed, responsive steering, and paddle shifting for fun, with 7 gear levels. And gas mileage is better on the new model.

If you are comparing prior AT to CVT, its no contest. If you are comparing old MT to CVT, it's apples and oranges.

The loaner car is AT. I think it would be more fun to drive as MT, for sure. The 2015 Fit I have with CVT is the first non-MT car I have had in....ever, and I like it. I wasn't sure I would, but I'm not missing shifting like I thought (many business trips in rental cars with AT probably weaned me off of it).

The loaner, in spite of only having 4000ish miles on it just feels sort of cheap. My EX-L doesn't. I'm also very biased.

Sorry, but your experience is vastly different than mine and many reviews of the car. It's not nearly as fun to drive and it's not peppier. Getting on the freeway in the 2015 was not nearly as confident as the older model. It's a downgrade in the fun and peppy department for sure. They need to bring back the rear anti-roll bar.

indie's posts jibe with most of the reviews I have read. I am getting ready for a less fun AT vehicle. Hope I feel differently when I test drive.

I remember some folks in the rear seats in my 1st generation talking about how they now knew how it felt to be in a bobsled. The first gen was a bit more fun than my second gen, and as said, I am kind of suspicious of the 3rd.

You realize that the Fit has a 1-piece twist-axle in the back, not true IRS, right? If you stiffen the twist axle it's the same as adding an anti-roll bar which I believe is what Honda did, according to the press releases.

I'm sure the aftermarket will soon have an add-on bar for those who want it stiffer still.

Yes, I know. They didn't stiffen it enough on this new model.

Car and Driver probably said it best.
The Fit nonetheless has a playful chassis for an affordable stuff shuffler. There’s little roll, and trick dual-path shocks provide linear compression under normal loading and a sort of blow-off function that uses a secondary valve to allow quicker compression when encountering sharp impacts, keeping the body under control even when you smack a midcorner bump. Without the outgoing Fit Sport’s rear anti-roll bar, the 2015 model isn’t quite as neutral, but it’s still close to fun, and certainly closer to it than any of the nonexistent cars that offer a Fit-sized interior package at this price.

guess we're all going to have to test drive one and come to our own conclusions since it's rarely the case that someone going from a GE to a GK will be unbiased after dropping over 20k on the car..... (oh and ruling out MT's)

that's like when my boy purchased a v6 camaro and wanted to discuss how fuel-efficient it was and how that was a factor in his decision (btw I've driven one for 500 miles and my average was 16mpg....might as well go v8 and enjoy yourself).

I completely agree with you Brian, I find it fun to drive without the PITA of pushing the clutch in all day. Done enough of that in my life. What I don't get is why arguments even arise about this! Not everyone has the same opinion. If you prefer the stick then drive it but don't bash those of us who prefer not to. Its a ridiculous argument and arguing the point either way makes you look like an ass.

Don't think it's a ridiculous argument. If you think driving is a chore or are if you are old, go slushbox. If you feel like driving is fun and like want to feel engaged in the driving experience, get a MT.

Once I'm old and yelling at kids to get off my lawn, I'll be for sure driving an auto transmission, so I'm enjoying manual while I still can

The point is telling someone they are wrong about their choice is asinine. You are correct that you should go with your preference.

and I do tell kids to get off my lawn sometimes.
Just saying...the 2013 felt cheap. My EX-L feels more luxurious. and I can "shuffle stuff" in it.
