Got the windows tinted today!

20% anti-reflective all around.

I'll try to take some better pictures tomorrow outside. Its raining cats and dogs so I'm keeping her safe in the garage.

Looks sweet! What did they tag you for that if I may ask.

The car now looks handsomely devilish!!!

Could you let me know how visibility is at night? What did they install? Llumar, Madico, 3M...........????

Won't do all around but certainly the rear doors and hatch. Was thinking 30% but your 20% is just too perfect!!!

Thank you! I do love it. It looks fantastic!

I had 30% on the front windows and 25% on the rear on my GD and kicked myself for not going darker.

My mom has 20% all around on her 2011 Accord Coupe so I kind of knew what to expect, but I must say it looks better on my Alabaster Silver than on her Crystal Black.

It is Solar Gard Ultra Performance. Lifetime warranty on labor and materials (it is scratch resistant, if it does scratch, free replacement)

Only cost $219. They had a $189 Groupon that I got, and then they charge an extra $30 for the illegal tint on the front windows.

That looks nice, here in CA, we are not allowed to have it tinted like that. Just the rear windows and the back can be tinted.

Its illegal here too but it is rarely enforced. Here the front windows can only be 35% and the rear can only be 20%.

It is a simple fix-it ticket if they do stop you for it. No fines.

I'm taking my chances.

Last time I got a fix it ticket for tinted windows was a while back and me and my dad had to take it off before we went to the police station to have it signed. The officer didn't even step outside to verify the removal of the tint. He just signs it.

To myself I'm like...Really?? We removed the tint for nothing? I wouldn't take chance like that though. Maybe they will check it where you are at. This was I think an isolated case when I took mine

Looks awesome! I just scheduled an appointment for next Friday to get my black EX tinted. 20% all around for $220.

I am in Southern California- Los Angeles- thinking of tinting the windshield if I get a Fit- did you tint your windshield?

In Hawaii, it's 35% all around (not including front which is limited to a small percentage of the top, not worth it to do it at all really) for a car like this. I am planning to do the max allowed, all around except front on mine, after I get one of course.

Is the car any cooler in temperature than it would be without?

California information only:

No tint on windshield except for a defined strip across the top.

Dark tint allowed on windows behind the driver.

Lighter tint of a specified transparency allowed on driver and passenger side windows, but be sure to get a certificate from the installer that the tint is in compliance, That is your "get out of jail free" card if you are pulled over.

All this stuff is in the vehicle code which is searchable online.

I would never tint the windshield but I've found with tint on all the other windows it makes it harder to see in the windshield from outside the car, probably because of less light inside. Not sure why this always has to turn into discussion about what is legal, that can be easily googled and in some parts of the country the police could care less especially if you are driving a newer car.

Yes tinting the windows makes a noticable difference in interior temperature. It also helps with rear and side glare since it is usually sunny out here.

I had never added tint to a vehicle until 2010 when I bought a 4 dr. Tacoma. I could tell a big difference in the inside temp when I added the tint.
On the Fit I'm curious to see if adding the heaviest legal tint to the back and sides will eliminate the need for the cargo cover. Any thoughts on that?

Am on the other side of the coin. Have always added tint with the exception of my '07 FJ and my wife's '11 Lexus RX. They both came with factory limo-style glass (rear door to back). With what I'm familiar with, anything 30% or better should keep prying eyes away.

Upps correction. Never tinted the GD either but will do so before month end as stated in my post ahead.

If I was able to go dark enough, I wouldn't need a rear cover, but unfortunately, we don't have that luxury in my state.

Sad but true. On the island we're allowed 35% max. Will be installing that on our GD in prep for handing over my our niece end of this month. Saw the sample and it should be able to do the job.

Front windows can be tinted, but at least 70%.

35% is the legal max here in TN also so that's what I'm planning for the back sides and the rear.. After you have it done I'll be curious to know if you think it's dark enough to not need the cargo cover. Please let us know.
