I believe the cars built in October 2014 will also be listed as 2015 MY. I recall some federal law that allows you to specifiy the "new" model year beginning in January of the year as the "next year," meaning that you can put a car for sale on January 4th, 2014 and label it a 2015, but you can't sell a car in October 2014 as a 2016. This will give the 2015 MY an extended "year" from June 2014 through at least October/November 2015 when is the traditional time that Honda releases their new model year.

Extended year is totally correct. When a completely new model is introduced in NA, Japanese mfgs. usually hang on to the hype to make the first year as successful as possible.
