My rearview camera came on when I pressed the LaneWatch button on the highway. The screen went black a few seconds later but the white text about objects being closer than they appear was still on the screen. Turning LaneWatch off and on additional times resulted in the same black screen.

I captured a video of it happening. I wonder if it is a software glitch. I just got my blue EX-L five days ago.

Only real beefs I have are the lack of leather steering wheel and the very cheap "wheel well" covering in the cargo area.

CVT very smooth and the car feels substantial.
I agree. The wheel well covering in the hatch is thin. I wish I had skipped the cheaply made cargo cover and gotten a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The wheel could feel more substantial. But at 50 mpg on the highway and 40 in town I am loving everything else.

The few things I have noticed so far that most have stated are:

The armrest sucks and is way too short. I am actually making an adapter similar to the one discussed in another thread to compensate for this limitation.

I also noticed the cheap cover over the spare tire area -- That could have been done differently.... And lastly - there is no pocket on the back of the Driver's seat only the passenger's seat...

Other than those so far everything else has been fine and I am enjoying the new car.

Posted this in a separate thread:

First, when I was out for a drive, I noticed LaneWatch was taking way longer than usual to come on. The screen would go dark immediately on signaling or on pressing the button but it would take about 3 seconds before the video came on the screen. Restarting the car seemed to fix this.

Later, I started the car and the disclaimer screen came on as normal. But when I tried to push OK the screen froze. Restarting the car had the screen going completely black (no welcome screen or anything). I decided to continue my trip anyway and about 45 seconds later the system came right up like nothing had happened (no welcome screen though).

Hopefully just a software fix. Headed in tomorrow to have it checked out.

Good idea, but, damn, how do you find the circuit?

The invoice price isn't what the dealer pays for the car, any more than MSRP is what the retail buyer pays. They're both made-up numbers that may have nothing to do with the actual price paid.
I had a dealer try and tell me they had a new "Invoice Pricing policy", and that it was posted on the windshield. I said, OK, where is it. He pointed to the MSRP, and tried to tell me that MSRP meant invoice price that they paid for the car.

Would be boiled if I was told that. My comeback would be to tell him he's wrong. MSRP stands for Motherf__g Sorry Rip-off Price!!!!

Insult to our intelligence and just shows their low IQ!!!

I would have asked him what the letters stand for

Lanewatch oddness

I had a similar thing happen to me regarding the lanewatch camera. When I signaled left (half pressure, for switching lanes), the screen remained black. When I depressed it all the way, the screen showed the rear camera view. It only went back to normal after I turned off and on the ignition. Btw, this was for a Modern Steel EX-L. Debating whether to take it in to the shop now or wait to see if it happens again.

Arm Rest Issue

First day with my new FIT ... got home and started going through it. Found the center console arm rest fabric separated from the base .. the fabric had been cut too short. Would love to post a pic but am too lazy to upload at this point. I will include in future pos. tCheck out my photo albums I may have already posted the pic

I noticed in one of the video reviews (I think it was the one with Steve Hammes) that the wheel well covering in the hatch area was so thin that it was already dented inward! That was a pretty shocking sign of cheapness, I thought. Definitely something I'll want to check out on a test drive...

How are you achieving those kind of mileage because I can't get near that. I'm averaging 36 to 37 mpg at the most.

When you noticed this, can you recall if you had the Econ mode enabled?

I'm also wondering this same thing regarding those that have mentioned a power stutter when starting out.

[QUOTE=Ocedoc;1251397]When you noticed this, can you recall if you had the Econ mode enabled?

Hello,

Yeah I did have the Econ button enabled when I noticed the weak AC, however I disabled "Econ Mode" and the air would get a little cooler for about 8-12 seconds and then go back to how it was before. When tweaking the AC knob a bit, I would notice the air cool down more but that was only temporary. Is it better to get air from inside the car or from outsid the car when running the AC?? IE: Which setting should I use to draw air from?

Thank You.

For maximum cooling you want to choose recirculated air rather than fresh air, that way the AC can cool air out of which it has already taken some of the heat.

The only exception is if you left your car in the sun all day and it is super hot inside, then you want to pull in the cooler fresh air for a few minutes until the cabin has cooled to about the same as the exterior temperature, then switch back to recirculate. Opening the sunroof may help flush out the super hot air during for those first few minutes.

Or I suppose you could just open all the windows to equalize the cabin and outside temperature instead of adjusting a ton of buttons.

Recirculating hot air instead of pulling in cooler fresh air or opening the windows is less efficient.
