New PBP EX-L w/Nav & comments and a pic

Hi all - took delivery on my new Fit this afternoon. I have posted more pictures in the other Passion Berry Pearl thread already, so feel free to look there... I thought I'd give some comments / share my experience if it's different from others already posted, especially from a non-car-enthusiast point of view - I mean I love my Fit(s) but not too interested in the 0-60 times, etc...

The dealers I was working with ended up driving down past Columbus, OH to pick up the car, so it started with 256 miles on it for me - not ideal, but at least no more waiting! Turns out the gal who actually did the driving was very impressed with the car, so there's a new convert to Fits within the dealership, hah...

I had 20% tint put on the rear and hatch windows, nothing on front (can't in MI) - the dealer took care of that appointment. They also added the few accessories I wanted (all-weather mats, cargo tray, rear-bumper applique) at no extra charge because I've been a loyal customer to them, so yay for that!

So about the 2015 EX-L w/Nav itself, compared to the 2009 Sport AT that I traded in:

* the CVT doesn't seem weird at all, maybe quieter

* the new wheels seem REALLY black

* Passion Berry Pearl is very reflective, I had a hard time taking pictures without seeing my reflection!

* I miss having the upper glove box and the front passenger side cup holder - I rarely have passengers, but used that cup holder myself for a janitor-sized set of work keys

* the horn sounds less sissy - still not like a truck, but someone might get out of the way now if I sound it

* the keyless entry fobs are really heavy compared to regular keys!

* the low armrest itself won't bother me because I didn't use the armrest in the 2009 - however I will have to come up with a new plan without the center cup holder, ack! The front left one is large, but it's right in front of the vent which is a drag - beverages change temperature from the heat or A/C...

* I'm still fiddling with the adjustable seat height, but the window sill definitely seems to be higher than the 2009 for resting my arm on it with the window open

* the slope of the front of the car is at a sharper angle, making the visor seem a little bit close to my forehead, and I bumped my head while making seat adjustments - that never happened in the old one, but hopefully it's just while I'm getting fit to my Fit

* the new shape of the windows seems to result in more air-flow throughout the car - maybe because the back windows go down farther too?

* I really need to get comfortable with the Voice Commands for the audio and navigation systems, since it seems that will be provide the best shortcuts instead of poking at the screen. I'm reasonably new to having a smart phone (android) so swiping the screen seems equally strange on the phone or car...

* the 3D mode in navigation is a little crazy-looking, not sure I could ever use it while driving!

Any other questions, please feel free to ask. I haven't spent much time driving it, more time spent sitting and getting used to the new placement of things.

Big Congrats and saw your pics in the other thread before reading this.

If one wants to understand their new cars, read the manual, sit and play with the car. Once your done, driving it around will be more pleasurable cause you won't be asking what the car/controls do and don't.

Enjoy the drive and big thanks for posting dem pics.

Indeed - I have spent the last few weeks reading the manuals online while waiting for word on when it might arrive, it was very helpful to have done that first!

Congratulations on your new FIT. Thanks for posting the photos and your thoughts. Keep them coming as you drive it and get more familiar with it over the next few weeks.

I've also been reading selective parts of the manual ahead of time. Since we're going from a 1992 Accord and a 2010 Toyota Tacoma, the FIT has quite a few new features that we're not familiar with at all.
