I don't mind them, other than they seem to hold onto car wash soap bubbles...

What, you don't like Lambo ducts?

Me neither. I plan to make red reflective panels to go into those fake openings. At least I'll get a little added safety then.

One could have fun with LEDs too.

We all know that opinions are like A-holes ... I admit mine stinks ... a little.
I though car designers call that type of flourish "surface excitement"?

Please post Pics when you do your mod, would love to see what you come up with. I removed the "FIT" badge from the hatch ... it balanced out the back a bit

Noticed the same thing ... also water pools-up on the rear bumper, doesn't drain off

I think this is something you should have thought about before buying the car haha. I personally don't like the look either.

I love how the car looks. It's like it's anti-chic in a good way. Plus if you saw the concept car drawings I was doing 45 years ago as a teenager it's a dead ringer!

I do love my little car!! It's a blast to drive, comfortable and pretty damn sharp looking. I just spent a long time staring at the backside and couldn't figure out what the designers were thinking when they put the black "garnish" on the rear bumper! If anyone comes up with a good way to modify please post PICS!!!

Some back-up lamps maybe?

Love the look, most of the previous Fits look too much like a minivan to me.

i am not a fan. they look like bat fangs to me. i love the overall look of the car from the back but chose modern metallic over silver to minimize the visual impact of the fangs.

I still say the rear of the GK looks like a muffed up Pug's (the dog breed) ass. Other wise, I dig the car's styling.

It could be worse. It could have fake air intakes for a mid-engine or brakes or whatever the *cough* Mustang *cough* is trying to convey.

If your really so worried about the rear garnish they do pop off that way you can have a free flowing hole which in turn would release trapped air behind the bumper. Less drag would then result in better mpg. There now it's functional and helping you save money.

It's all new desing. Some things you will like and some you wont. But after you have it for a few months, you would be surprise on how things grow on you.

I want this thing that replaces the dome light and apparently releases blue and pink bubbles into the car:
