I was wondering the same thing and am hoping all is well. I do remember reading in one of his posts that his wife would be travelling to Japan (he was hoping she could get the LED replacement for the upper tailgate reflectors while in country... very cool). Again am hoping all is well and am selfishly waiting to see pics of his WOP 6speed M/T ride with all the fixins!

 

I also hope all is well with him and family. I bet he is chomping at the bit to post. Lol

 

I hope he didn't decide to leave the board disappointmented with the first GK fit he finally inspected at the dealership.

I wonder which forums whe should expect him to pop up now? Nissa Versa Notes... or maybe Old British roadsters?

Rottboy is alive and well, taking some family time, said he will be back after hopefully decking out the Fit!

I must say, I do miss ROTTBOY's posts. That guy really knew some stuff. Glad for the update and looking forward to his triumphant return to the Freaks.

 

Hey I just wanted to provide an update on ROTTBOY since he seemed to be very active in this community. I am his nephew. He passed away last Feb 2021 suddenly. I know he was very valued by this community so I wanted to pass on the news.

I'm actually the one who got him turned onto Fits! He was trying to get me to buy a Mazda 3 before I pointed him at the Fit!

Shortly after I bought my Fit in late 2020, I met him when I purchased a set of RS-R lowering springs from him.
IIRC, he was driving a MB wagon at the time.

 

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Rottboy's death. He was such a vivid and well loved part of this community. It is really hard to believe that he is no longer in Vancouver buying and selling cars with wild abandon. I no longer own my 2015 Fit but I would often return to the site hoping to see a new post from him.

 

Thank you for the kind words. Yeah, I knew he was well-respected here, so I wanted to pass on the word. It's tough that I don't have him to go to for Fit advice anymore, but glad I have this forum...and his archive!
