Just bought Silver EX Fit and loving it

Just bought a Silver EX for 18,537 after destination but before tax and the usual vehicle fees. Bascially $500 under MSRP. I really wanted blue EX, but all they had was silver and red, and someone bought the last Red Fit 2 hours before me. I guess I will have to settle for a boring silver color, but at least it won't look as dirty or see scratches easily like blue or red...sigh, I'm just trying to make myself feel better.

But everything else about it is great. No issues so far, the tech is way ahead of my 2009 base Fit. It didn't even have a remote key. Now I got smart entry and push button. It even reads Chinese characters for my mp3's with artwork too. Oh Yea, it better, its an asian company! The thing I like most is mpg. I am getting 40mpg on mixed city and highway. The coolest thing is I can fit a 16" bike in the hatch, with lots of room to spare. Didn't even have to put down the seats (can't anyway since I have 2 car seats). I hope I'll just forget about Silver color. If some silver color fitfreaks fan can cheer me up, maybe I'll feel better. I don't hate it, and I don't love it. It just doesn't make me think that I purchased this cool new car, nor attract any attention in a parking lot. Just low key, but stare long enough, and you'll notice the beauty of the design I guess.

With two car seats in the back, I'm not sure what kind of attention you were expecting...

According to PPG Paint company, silver is the most popular car color overall (23% I think). And, your right about it not showing dirt or scratches. I also think the contrast between the red tail lights and silver color is nice.

Enjoy you new Fit!

happy2000hk, I have a 2003 Pilot, the first one the dealership sold, and it is silver. I now have 245k miles on it and the silver color has held up real well without extra care, so much so that I mentioned it to the service manager at the dealer the other day and he said that silver holds up better than any other color. I'm really happy with my choice now, 12 years later. When people asked me in 2003 how I liked my Pilot, of course my answer was the standard "I love it", quickly followed by "ask me in 5 years and I'll tell you the real answer". Its time now to move on to a new car and it will be difficult to give up the best car I've ever owned. I'm looking at the Fit as I don't need the room of the Pilot and I like the efficiency of the Fit so the mileage would be nice going into retirement. The silver is in my top two colors to consider based on my experience with the Pilot. Hang in there, it'll grow on you.

I thought I wanted a passionberry or blue one, based on the pictures, but when I actually saw them under the hot Texas sun, the passionberry looked too brown and the blue looked a bit garish next to the red LED lights. So I went with silver and am happy.

I love the aqua color with black trim from the last model (not sure which year), but really wasn't thrilled with any of the new colors.

Congrats

Congratulations on your new Fit! Just this Saturday I picked up my Milano Red LX. And I'm loving it! Neat little car! The last Honda that I owned was a brand new 91 Civic SI. Feels nice to be back in the Honda family again. Best of luck with yours!
