Bumper recall

Got notification on the bumper and A-pillar recalls Saturday. Dealer says I am the first to call to have it fixed. Not sure how I feel about that. Don't want mine used as a training tool for new techs! They want half a day to do it.

You got a call or email/mail from the dealer? I checked my car and it says it was made in July, so that means I'm part of the bumper recall I think. I haven't gotten any notice from the dealer, and the only thing I got from them are free tickets to the OC auto show.

I'm a bit worried to take it into the dealer for bumper recall though if I get a notice, simply cuz of the headlight mods and whatnotelse we do. I feel like they'd somehow screw up and damage something.

Removing it is tedious, but not difficult. I removed the front bumper from my '97 Civic a number of times. I plan to remove the Fit bumper to cover it with 3M plastic and to install new horns.

I was going to post a PDF showing how to remove the bumper. How can I do that? There's no link. It just a file on my computer.

There's already a PDF on College Hills Honda parts showing how to remove the bumper. Its in the sports grille accessory section.

Here's the link. Follow through it, its like page 2-5. Kinda hard to post links in the mobile website of this forum

I BELIEVE (not 100% sure) that the recall will effect vehicle made up until JUNE. If yours was built in July, I think you're clear.

You can check here on the official Honda Recall website:

Honda Recalls | Honda Safety | Honda Owners Site

Just enter your VIN and it will report back what (if any) recalls are for your Fit.

My VIN is in the 24000's and is showing:

There are no current safety recalls for this vehicle.

does your VIN start with a 7+0, or a 7+1?

SR45, I got mine today too. Maybe I'll run into you at Courtesy Palm Harbor since I can't seem to get up early enough to drop in at your breakfast place!

Got an appointment for Thursday morning 7AM. I'll wait for the fix but the notice said that it may take a full day. Guess it depends on the service center and who is first in line

So much for that...I can't get to this until the second half of October. Please fill me in on how it goes, SR45.

This is a product update, not a recall, so it will not appear on the link to recalls CIOWN provided. You'll get a letter if you're in the bunch.
