Caution! This Might Be Scary! $$$

I just looked up how much I've spent on our two Fits for things that we really didn't need (for the most part). For our two Fits, we've spent about $3,200 on various accessories - floor mats, lights, seat covers, dash cams, snow tires & wheels, shark fin antennas, etc. Nothing spectacular.

Do any of you dare to tell us how much you have spent on accessories?

I don't want to do the math but I will say that it is in the $2,200 range with wheels, tires, bulbs, mats, splash guards, cargo tray, shark fin, etc.

I use Quicken, and it's just too easy to see how much money I've spent in various categories. That can be depressing. It's especially depressing to see how much I've spent on a car I no longer have. All those must-have accessories that are gone!

I got the bumper applique thrown in with the purchase of the car.

That will probably cover my accessories for this first year.

Oh and I did buy a Patriot USB drive for music.

THAT will cover my accessories for the year.

Much of the OEM accessories I got on the house (no really) between selling my other OEM accessories from my 2011.

Only ones I paid out for were:

Window Visors
Moonroof Visor
Splash Guards

All the aftermarket extra stuff:

Dash cam
LED lighting (interior and undercarriage)
Curt trailer hitch with wire harness
Snow tire chains
DOHC I-vtec decals
2k Sine wave inverter (got this for free actually)

Include some miscellaneous wiring and such, total spend has been about $700 bucks out of pocket. Total cost of all accessories are well into the $2200 range if I actually paid for everything.

I would be stupid to document that information on a public forum, just to have the wife use it against me in divorce court!

I SPENT NOTHING ON ACCESSORIES AND NEVER WILL !!!

I can easily say my Fit became a $24 ~ 25,000 Fit after the mods. Enough at least that other people have asked me why I didn't just get a different car that already has or has better things. Still love the car.

Okay, so you get a $25k car, and then you have to add mods to that. W@ho wants a car that's identical to all the others? Remember the MPG of your Fit. That would be hard to get with a "better" car.

Here is my list and price of everything I have spent so far - I think I have captured all the items I have added. The only thing left on my list is to get the leather steering wheel wrap - planning on ordering that from Wheelskins... Just under $1000 for everything - I think that's pretty decent. I saved big on buying the aftermarket illuminated door sills and the interior blue lights for under the front dash area...

Isn't there already a thread on this? The "$2000+ Fit mod club" or something like that?

$2,000 sounds like a huge amount, until you add up what you've spent. I just ordered the rubber door guards for my car and my son's - $332.15. Seeing someone post a picture of his car with a ding in the guard made the decision for me.

I checked what I spent on my older Hondas, and it was more than the cost of the car. I'm talking accessories, gas, service, repair, insurance, etc. The cost of the car itself is a minor consideration.

Nice! ive only spent $500 so far and got a great deal in my opinion!

$500 for the following:
Remote Start
Trunk Tray
Local Honda dealer license plate cover and decal

I plan on getting:
Splash Guards
Tint
All Weather Mats

And removing the....
Local Honda dealer rear license plate cover and decal
(still mad they put the decal on and when i asked to have it removed the salesman said "aww come on man its our free advertisement..."

Splash guards might not look flashy, but they will protect the lower part of the car.

I have WeatherTech mats in front, and they're great! Their high sides keep dirt and liquid from getting to the carpet.

The last three brand new cars I've bought none of the dealers put a advertising decal on the car other than their special license plate frame.

Pretty common to see this on a used car lot with decals all over the place.
