Still undecided on a Fit because of the packaging. Kinda had it out with the salesman and sales manager. Doubt I buy a Fit.
I mentioned how I would like Satellite radio and could do without Nav and sunroof. They told me a similar thing I read here. Buy the lower trim level fit and add the Satellite radio aftermarket. I dont really want an aftermarket part hanging in the vehicle.

I have my a piece of my mind. I was told buy sales manager that for years now they have been been selling customers Fits and installing Satellite radio in many new vehicles. Instead of listening to customers and having to change them and modify them and build them to what customers want, maybe they need to tell Honda's marketing what to build and not tell the customers what to build.

Also took a look at Nissan Versa. I think it is rather cheaply built and put together but interestingly their middle of the road package is an "SV" package. It adds all the convenience items like power windows, locks, keyless entry. It had Bluetooth. Auto climate control. Adds a better radio with Siruis radio. No sunroof. Seems and interesting consideration. MSRP about $16,900.
Also the particular vehicle had grey cloth seats, a different look compared to coal bin black in the FIT.

I also like the beige or tan interior in vehicles. I work in the construction trade. I have found tan carpeting and tan seats dont show mud and dirt from my boots or clothing.

My Fiesta has the medium light stone leather (beige) in a two tone combination with black on the interior and dash. IMO it looks quite elegant for an entry level vehicle. I added a pic of my Fiesta.
just to be clear, is this the Versa Note you are talking about or just the plain versa sedan? just asking cause you can get the versa note in the SV trim level with every option you are asking for in your original post. i have had mine for over a year now and have racked up almost 26,000 trouble free miles on it and have been keeping pretty good track of the safercar.gov site to see how many issues and complaints are popping up with the versa note....so far in the over a year that the versa note has been getting sold in the US there have been 23 complaints filed and 2 minor recalls that only affected very early production cars. not trying to disuade you from a new fit as they are awesome cars, but just trying to clear up some of the wild rumours that may come about concerning the versa note by giving you some insight from a person who actually owns one

To answer Note-ified. Yes it was the Versa Note. IE hatchback. I was looking at.

To answer a few other comments. I looked at numerous small car ratings and reliablity ratings and subcompact ratings. Granted, Honda is near the top in every category. There are some surprises in the ratings and some routine vehicles we all might consider crap in this forum that are in the mix.

I think ANY vehicle is highly reliable. It's how drive it and how you maintain it. I won't knock any brand. I think any vehicle will run 200kmi, 300mi, and beyond pretty easily. My last three vehicles I traded in for my own personal use all had in excess of 200kmi.

I am NOT your normal driver. I drive upwards of 50,000mi/yr. My girlfriend is not a normal driver and drives about 25,000mi/yr.

I never was once stranded on the entire ownership of my two previous vehicles with the exception of a flat tire and a dead battery. Things that can happen to any vehicle!

In a little over 6 1/2 yrs I racked up over a quarter-million miles on a vehicle. That isn't normal driving. Another thing I always get comments on is "Well, with those miles a vehicle isn't reliable and nickels and dimes you". Well quite often I'm away from home. When I'm no,t I'm commuting a lot. Given the way I drive, I dont freakin time to be backyard mechanic and don't have time to be running a vehicle to the garage or dealership. If the vehicle was giving me any problems, I'd get rid of it. They never usually do even at the mileage I run them.
I traded my Jeep simply because I reached a personal milestone of 250,000mi. Within days pf surpassing that mark I put money down on a new car, my Fiesta. My Fiesta was a factory order and took about 10 weeks to get it. In that waiting period, I drove my vehicle and accumulated another 8,000+ miles. I have no doubt I could have gotten many more miles out of it. When you spend that much time with a vehicle your ready for something different.

My point is, I think any vehicle is highly reliable. Granted some maybe more than others.
Here is my advice and my gripe with the FIT. Buy what you want. Buy the options you want. Skip what you don't want. You only regret perhaps wasting money on something you didnt really need after you bought it. If you ever hastily purchase a vehicle and find out weeks, or months later, that you wish you would've maybe had some more, or less options, you won't ever be happy with the vehicle. Buy what you want period. And research options. Build and order a vehicle of need be. Unfourtulatey, with most imports, building and specking options and ordering specific things isn't possible.

If the turns out not be what you wanted because of certain features and options you won't like it and won't own it long no matter how reliable it is.

Sometimes I seem to be living in my vehicle, I am particular with how I like it to be.

Also I researched the review and reliability and cost of ownership of the FIT. I was tech savvy I'd post the links. I read on here and indeed in a vehicle rating, the Honda FIT was 2nd best in overall lowest cost of vehicle ownership.
Surprising to me, #1 was the new Volkswagen Golf. Toyota Prius was #3. I seen multiple vehicle ratings from various testing firms. I seen one site that ranked the Fiesta #4. Another ranked it #12.

Another site I looked at ranked the FIT #2 in overall ownership costs. In a real surprise, and shocking, tje Kia Rio was #1, besting the FIT.

I still haven't made my mind up on what I may buy. It's at my girlfriends pace and discretion. It's winter and roads are covered in salt. We may hang on to her Subaru through the winter. Why destroy a new car with salt and stones?

I don't think anyone's mentioned safety in this thread yet. The Honda Fit and Chevy Spark are the only IIHS top safety picks in this class.

You are correct about the FIT and Spark. Indeed, top safety picks and only one's in their class.

Safety has never been the top reason for me as to why I purchased a vehicle. It has always been about options, fuel mileage and price.

Once again, kinda like reliability, all vehicles are fairly even when it comes to safety. All vehicles must meet certain IIHS and NTSB safety requirements and standards . The safety curve of being safest vehicle and being the least safest vehicle is that much different.

Just think how things change year to year. For certain the 2015 is a redesigned vehicle and it has multiple new safety features . Best in class! Does that mean the rest of vehicles in it's class are unsafe? I dont think so. Also take a look at previous generation FIT so many people on this Forum own. The 2015 FIT has significant improved safety features over the out going FIT. Does that mean the previous FIT is unsafe? Should I fear if I own a 2013 or older FIT? How should one feel about buying a certified renowned Honda? Gee I know any certified preowned Honda won't have nearly the most advanced safety features.

Also if anyone was truly paranoid about vehicle safety I wouldn't buy any small vehicle. I'd be driving a big SUV like a Hummer. After all, big vehicle hits small vehicle, small vehicle looses.

All this writing and talk has got my nerves shot. I'm going for a motorcycle ride to the bar for a cold beer, lol.

VWs are overrated. Yes, they are almost over-engineered just like every other German car and their quality is very noticeable. But when something goes wrong, and something always does, it's usually due to a bonehead choice at the engineering stage. Case in point, water pumps. Jettas, Passats, GTIs, and Golfs have all had water pump problems over the years because VW chose to go with an all plastic unit. It's so common and can cause so much damage that replacing the water pump at a specific number of miles has to be considered as routine maintenance. And replacement cost ain't cheap. If it does fail then secondary damage is common and even more costly.

VW electrical systems also have a history of problems. Most occur long after the warranty expired though.

The current stock XM radios other than Hyundai runs vers 2.0 of the radio which can pause, start music from the beginning once you turn it on as well as 25 more stations than stock cars have. I was fine buying XM Radio Onyx Plus. Dont let a lack of a 49.99 radio keep you from buying the best subcompact new or used.

uhhhhhhhhhhh srsly lol again priorities. that being said i ACTUALLY lived in my fit for upwards of 4 months. not seemed like it. I LIVED in it. Day in and Day out. slept in the back on a mattress pad with a blanket and a few pillows and still managed to work 12 hour days 5 days a week. no complaints. i drive around 40,000 miles a year in an 08 and I'm cool with it. the 15 model is much more "luxurious".

Thats a beautiful teg. Hope you still have it. I have a 96 4dr gsr that i simply adore. The exterior isnt as nice as yours, mine is a faded frost white. There is simply nothing like the b series motor at high rpm, its truely a great car. Best of all they last, i have 378k on the original motor. And still runs strong.
