One thing I hate about the 2015

There are some amenities on the '15s that I would like and although I prefer and love my '09, I hate how the '15s turn signals are red! Just a little idiosyncrasy of mine but turn signals need should be yellow!

Back to our regularly scheduled program..........

I hate red turn signals, and I think they should be banned. They are fine at night but a lot of times, especially as cars get older, they're difficult to make out during the day.

You are not alone.

Also don't like having three trim levels. All dem letters get confusing! I like either Base or Sport.

I wish there was a small pull-out tray to put change and other miscellaneous things. So far, I like the rest quite a bit.

I too hate the red turn signals. Rear turn signals should be amber.

count me in as well for the thumbs down on the red signals. Can be confused with brake lights. Indicators should have their own colour.

And.... another flaw which I mentioned in another thread.... the useless "armrest".

I totally agree that the red turn signals are an issue. They are a real safety hazard that all automakers should just stop doing.

In my EX (Canadian model), I just noticed tonight while driving that there was a little LED above my central cupholder illuminating it's contents. Seems like it would be an odd feature not have on all trim levels.

I have the same light above the central cupholder on my EX (US model). I thought it was super cool. My old car, that I drove for 13+ years, had none of that type of thing. So I'm really enjoying all the cool little details.

I didn't even notice that the turn signals were red. I would have thought those would be a set color - yellow. I guess the blinking would pretty much determine break light or turn signal. And I only see it if I'm behind another Fit anyway ...

I'm not crazy about the weird material that the sides of the hatch are made of. It's not the same kind of molded plastic as older models. What is that stuff? I imagine it's cheaper and more lightweight (for better gas mileage), but I wonder how it will hold up over the years.

The thing that bugs me most about my new 2015 Fit is that now I have a car payment. Drove my old car for 13+ years, so I've been without a payment for a while. It will take some getting used to. Ack.

Overall I am happy with the car... mileage is as advertised, fit and finish is nice, roomier than expected but there are 4 things that we don't like...

(1) The amount of snow, mud, etc. that accumulates on the back window is unlike any vehicle I have ever owned. It almost seems to defy the laws of physics that all that crap shoots out from the back wheels and ends up on the rear window..... and YES I have mud guards installed. The small, weird angle of the rear wiper doesn't help.

(2) My wife drives herself and the kids to school daily so quite often 3 people in the car and the defog CANNOT keep up. Put a 4th person in there and driving with the windows cracked is required. I live in a cold Canadian climate but really... the defog is terrible.

(3) "Premium" stereo in the EX is a joke. Our other vehicle is a 2009 Santa Fe and that factory stereo kicks butt!!!

(4) Gas tank is too small. I understand that it is a design requirement to get the magic seats but I find myself at the gas station just as often as with the 12 year old car it replaced and psychologically it doesn't "feel" like the gas mileage is that good.

Anyway... hope some of this info helps potential buyers out there make an informed decision.

It's also a design requirement to keep overall weight down. Carrying around extra fuel weight reduces mileage a bit.

I'd really like cars to have at least a 500 mile range in normal driving, but most tend to be around 300. Back in the fuel crisis I added a second tank to my Datsun 510 and had a range of 625 miles. That really spoiled me.

I seem to be the only person in America that hates the new FIT. I researched the heck out of this vehicle.

As I stated before, my girlfriend was considering a new FIT for her own personal use. I think now we will be buying something else.

I have no idea how Honda gets all these stellsr reviews. I'd to know who Honda pays off to get suck good reviews.
I have said may times how I hate their options and package configurations.
I can name about 10 things I dont like about the FIT compared to it's competion.

This vehicle is WAY overpriced and WAY over rated.

1. I hate black interior. I have no choice but to buy black cloth/leather. I have beige in my current vehicle.
2. My vehicle is loaded up. I have no sunroof. Didn't want it. Was a stand alone option. Didn't pay for it. Anything above base trim, Honda forces it on it.
3. The FIT is noisy. Decibel testing proves it against it's competion.
4. Lane change is a joke! Vehicle testing firms rave about this safety feature. I drive mostly highway and interstate and drive alot. It's law, stay in right , pass left. No one passes me on the right. I can exit right without issue. I seem to be only person who thinks the camera is on wrong side of vehicle.
5. I wanted loaded with manual transmission. Not an option with Honda! My vehicle is exactly equipt like this.
6. I wanted Siruis radio. Only possible in EX-L package after paying a $1000premium for NAV. Then Jonda throws it in. My vehicle has Siruius in mid level package and up included.
7. HondaLink is lower rated in reviews compared to competitors offerings.
8.Gearing of Honda's manual transmission is horrible at highway speeds. Geared way to low.
9. The Honda FIT is considerably more expensive than it's competition.
10. Hondalink doesn't seem to presently work with Android phones to allow screen mirroring on the dash monitor.

I never in my life seen such an arrogant car manufacture, dealership, salespeople, and organization as a whole!

My girlfriend and I took the time to go to a dealership together and look at a FIT. She drives alot as I do. For some reason she really likes and wanted the Siruis radio. She let them know about her displeasure of the FIT and how sattelite radio is only available on with the NAV. She wasn't about to pay for that.

As recommended by the dealership, they suggested we go aftermarket and get Sattelite radio. Apparently this ais a common and routine thing buyers do. As per salesman, he said he had probably told countless customers to do the same.Maybe instead of telling countless customers how to go about installing Satellite radio, maybe they should tell Honda how to build the vehicle since their customers apparently know nothing.

Also the NAV system, alot of people really like the NAV systems in all vehicles. Many people feel it's one of those gotta have options. Why is it only offered on the top-of-line model?
Should be available as a stand alone option in any trim level.

And why is everything black interior. Black trim, black cloth, black leather? I hate black interior. So does she. Anything at all has got to be better than "coal bin black" as an interior option.
Outside of the goth community, no one would even think of putting black carpeting in their home. You can't ever go to carpet outlet and buy black carpeting for you home. No one is that stupid! Somehow as a US automobile consumer, I'm expected to pay for the crap.

We mentioned our displeasure of the FIT. We all but got thrown out the door at the dealership. Neither of us ever took a test drive. How dare anyone say anything negative about the FIT this thing is the supposedly the holy grail of all small cars.

1. I hate rear turn signals as well. Amber are standard in the EU. I think they are much easier to see than red blinking lights and red brake lights. Anyone at NTSB ever drive behind someone when only one brake light working while tapping the brake? It looks like a turn signal. At least our signals are separate from the brake light.

2. I miss the lower center console light in our '13. I can see my cup at night time.

3. I don't get an auto insurance discount for rear view cam or lane watch.

4. The '15 EX/EX-L has a useless HDMI plug instead of a useful 3.5mm stereo jack.

In a response to a comment above about having different trim levels. I will say that I LOVE that Honda doesn't put the trim level decal on the trunk. I think it's nice that from the "outside" we all drive a Fit (at least the the U.S.) and whether it's a base, sport, LX, EX, or EX-L, it doesn't say.

I had to go look. Indeed, the rear turn signals are red. I'll have to pay more attention to other cars to see what else is on the road these days. I tend to see tail lights go on, and I know that a car in front of me is doing something -- breaking, turning, something -- and I should give them some distance.

I agree that I don't like the lack of a basic 3.5mm stereo jack. Lots of folks still use devices where that would come in handy.

I don't know what the console light looks like in the '13 Fit, but there is a small, dim light above the center console of my '15 EX (below the heat/AC controls, directing light downward). Lets me see a cup in the cup holder or stuff in the tray. Not bright enough to see the USB, power, or HDMI plugs in much detail, but I would find it distracting if it were much brighter.

I also like that Honda doesn't put a trim level decal on the trunk.

Still love the magic seats, rear view camera, lane watch camera, and the overall feel of driving the car. (Don't really need a lane watch camera on the driver side since there's a big window right next to you and the driver-side side mirror has expanded view. Passenger side camera comes in handy and I'm using it more than I thought I would.)

I've never noticed the dim light under A/C controls. Sounds like the same as the '13. I'll have to check next time I'm driving at night.

The ONLY exception to red turn signals that I like is when I converted the rear turn signals on my MOTORCYCLE to red because they also act as break lights and I think it's safer to have three brake lights than one single little brake light.

Did the same on my Road King--with blue dot jeweled lenses on all three. Also moved the power lead for the driving lights switch from the low beam side of the high/low switch to the common hot input. Makes the high beam width MUCH wider (for seeing deer on the side of the road).

I really don't care what color our Fit's rear turn signals are.
