LX Aero underbody on EX?

I'm picking up a '15 EX in a little bit and in reviews I keep reading about how the LX has underbody aero panels which helps it with mpg. It's specifically stated that the LX has these but the other models don't.

2015*Honda*Fit Review By Kelsey Mays

33/41/36 mpg in the efficiency-optimized LX, which adds aerodynamic underbody covering and deletes some weight in the form of insulation and the moonroof.

The Fit LX, with less weight, an aerodynamic underbody and tires with low rolling resistance, jumps a full 5 m.p.g.
So I looked on Majestic Honda's website and found the panel in question, #20:

74641-T5R-A00 020 001 COVER, FR. FLOOR (LOWER) 379.17 254.04

I'm interested in doing this swap as adding these on my BRZ gained me 2 mpg average and reduced some road noise.

Couldn't find another thread on this, has it been done yet?

I think we've determined that *all* trim levels use the underbody panels… somewhere floating around are pics of an EX with the same panel installed (OEM).

It is until you have to access something UNDER that panel.

What is under (actually, above) the panel? Just the fuel tank, right? I think that the exhaust system is off to the side

The BRZ had two panels which were fastened with 12mm, 10mm bolts and plastic push clips. Removing those were happy the job when getting to the shifter, trans mount, etc.

This being a Honda I'm hoping it's just 10mm bolts all the way down.

But there's the other panel, under the engine, which has to be removed and reinstalled for every oil change.

Ah, you mean the "discourage the customer from doing their own oil change panel!"

That isn't the panel being discussed above. I'm hoping that it will be possible to retrofit that panel with Dzus fasteners for faster and surer attachment than the cheesy screws.

I wonder how many of those panels end up on the shelf after the first oil change?
