Man Im scared to take my car to the dealership because I totally do not trust them to do anything. But this coil recall seems like a safety issue and I would want that to be fixed. Has anyone done both of these recalls and know how long they take? I will not leave my car with them.

The recalls were issued only DAYS ago.
Give it time, maybe even wait until you get the notification letter in the mail.

Dealer telephoned me on September 30 and advised of recall and made appointment to bring the car in next Monday.

The ignition coil recall work took an hour. The car is peppier, and I got all my fluids and tires checked, plus a car wash. Unfortunately I am not in the CVT recall, so I'll have to do all those things myself later this month.

I had this recall done along with the ignition recall, took about 2.5 hours with me waiting there.

Fortunately they had a really good coffee machine.
Unfortunately all the show cars and cars on the lot were locked, and no salesmen were in yet (early morning) so I was unable to sit inside a HRV or try out android auto on any of the new Hondas.
I did inspect a bunch of fits on the lot, and they all exhibited some form of bumper misalignment or other flaw, so that has not changed. For those curious, I do not see any similar flaws on Accords.

No difference before/after the recalls, same mileage, same motor characteristics, shifting, power.

Software updated today

Took car in for CVT software update today. Took about an hour. I was concerned that it might degrade the performance but was complete opposite. Previously ran at about 2400 RPM at 60MPH now runs at about 2000. There is also a marked improvement in low end acceleration ( 0 to about 50 MPH). Haven't had a chance yet to check effect on mileage.

Interesting. My Fit is turning about 2200 RPM at 65 MPH and about 2400 RPM at 70 MPH.

I had the CVT recall done yesterday. (they didnt have parts to do the coil recall).

Trans is noticeably different in that it doesnt hunt and change ratios nearly as much as before.

rolling about 2100 rpms at 65mph now. It was approx 2500 before.

Out of curiosity has anyone noticed any change in fuel economy after the software update?

My MPG went down. After one week of driving, I've noticed my average MPG went down by 1.

A 1 mpg decrease could be attributed to a lot of things (e.g. colder temps, slight driving style changes, change in trip distances, etc), so I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. Give it some more time (you may have to wait until winter is over though).

with more city driving than normal my MPG is so far up 2-3 mpg
wont get a good read on it until next week as I did less of my normal routes since the recall.

car drives significantly better though. Feels like I found 20 lb/ft more torque. Car is noticeably quicker getting up to speed and much smoother

Oh REALLY! THIS is the kind of news I like reading about.
**Rubbing hands together**

I will definitely test this out on my Android and the track if both of these are correct. ASAP..

I had this recall done as well as the ignition recall done earlier today. The drive feels the same to me. No extra power or torque however I hardly ever notice any more power or torque in feel even when my cars were significantly faster.

I'll have to test it out at the track tonight to see if what those of you felt is true or not.
