The fabric is cut a little too short or the glue job was not done well. I personally would take it apart and reglue and staple it. It looks like there are 2 screws near the hinge to separate the fabric from the plastic base sections.

You'll need to take it to your dealer and see what they say.

If the car is under warranty, ask for a replacement, not a repair.

That is terrible.

Took the car to the dealer today and Honda will take care of it. The dealer had to put an order for the part and it looks like they need to replace the whole arm rest console.

Part Number 83450-T5R-A31ZA #18 -- they can just replace the lid

Was it ripped like this when you drove it off the dealer lot? How old is your Fit? Did the dealer try to blame it on you?

Somewhere here there is another thread on this. Apparently, there were some arm rests that had the piece of fabric cut too small to stay "tucked" under the pad. That looks like what happened to the OP's.

Not an issue.

Looks and works great and mine gets a good workout every day as I stash stuff in there like garage opener, phone, loose change etc.

I wasn't aware that this was an issue, I didn't see the previous thread. I just checked mine and fortunately it's fine.
