Window tinting

Just had our 2016 tinted.
If you're considering it, we had legal shade (in Washington) on the front windows, and one shade darker in the rear. Also added a 4" visor over the windshield.
$215.00.
Can't open the windows for 2 days, can't use rear electric defrost for 4 days.
It looks great.

That sounds like a pretty good deal! We had our Fit done this spring near Chicago and paid around $300 for all windows aside from the windshield to be done with 20% tint.

Do you ever have problems with the tint coming off?

5%! Holy crap that is just black vinyl! With 20% it makes sharp corners harder after dark as you cannot see very well. But with 5% I assume after dark it is like trying to look through a wall!

It does look totally amazing though, and makes the yellow that much brighter.

As for falling off, we have only had our fit since July and this was the first thing I did to it. Love it so far, and no complaints about the tint.

5% - holy moly- thats DARK!!

VA law says its got to be 51% front seat area - 35% behind them ...
tho I think the dark streak on the upper windshield may be 20%
They used SunTek CarbonXP (CXP) and the job was just under $300.

We bought the car 09/30, had the tint done Mon 11/09

Legal here in Indiana is 35% in front and 20% in back. I've always done 5% on all of my cars - I've had many. It's not bad to see out of, sometimes when backing out of the garage in the snow it is, but other than that it's great. Keeps the heat out and good privacy.

That's odd - the 20% looks less dark than my 51% - the number is usually the amount of light passed - must be a stupid camera trick ...

Yeah, that's not 20% on the black car, that's 35% or higher. 20% is darker than that.

My Daughter did not want a dark tint job, so on her 2015 Fit, we went with 55% on sides and back, then 18% on the sunroof and 4" front windshield sun strip. Her Sister liked it so much, she did the same thing on her new 2015 Toyota Prius. Both jobs right at $300.00 (SunTek CarbonXP (CXP).

And as illegal as sin here in Tennessee (unless you're Hillary Clinton ... GFG). 35% on front door windows, 20% on the rear doors windows and the rear window. Sunshade windshield allowed. Cops just don't like that super dark tint, you might be hiding a large caliber gun or a kidnapped child.

For the hyper-milers, C&D had a short side bar suggesting that tint will improve mileage by a small percentage. Mirror tint does the best, but cops will approach with drawn guns. Nervous cops with drawn guns is un-good.
