Getting ready to file under Florida lemon law

My 2015 fit is junk. Period. Dealer can't fix the problem. Opening and closing my rear hatch sounds like the titanic breaking apart in two just before it sank. The problem seems to be coming from the hinges and both hinges have been replaced, along with the boom arms that lift the door up and the problem persists. And the problem is not only when opening and closing the hatch, the same sounds also permeate the cabin whenever I drive. The car is a lemon, PERIOD. I will be reaching out to legal advice this week to see what my next steps are. First and last Honda I'll ever buy - BIG REGRETS on this pile of junk.

If I stop one person from buying the POS and having to go through what I've been through, it's worth it.

Honda should be ashamed of what they put to market. How many recalls so far?

Recalls before any one is injured = junk?

You got unlucky and have had to deal with a minor annoyance.

I'm so sorry for your struggles.

When they buy it back, what are you thinking of replacing it with?

Are you having mechanical issues? Like engine or transmission? Does the car leave you stranded or does it start up every time?

Ah yes bring on the Honda fan boys who never miss a turn to tear into anyone with a legitimate complaint.

Under Florida lemon law, issues don't need to be strictly mechanical in nature and only deal with the engine and transmission. Read the law, it's quite clear.

Kia Forte or maybe a Hyundai elantra hatchback. One thing is for sure, it won't be a honda.

^^^ What he said.

US spec Jazz/Fit appear to be inferior to the UK built ones.

Easy for you to say since you apparently haven't driven one. Not a fan boy as Doc Holiday would imply, but if you're judging on what you read here, it would be termed "hear say" and not admissible in court.

Doc may or may not have a legitimate complaint, but the hatch on my 2015 Fit opens silently and with great force ... stand back least it hits you in the chin.

It isn't perfect .. 1st gear is too short, 5th and 6th gears are too close together and there's no real excuse for the Paper Mache hatch floor. I've haven't put anything on the roof, so I cannot testify either way on its strength, pro or con. No recalls at this point (most of the Fit's recalls are voluntary, not mandated).

I love my Honda - it has VTEC

Sucks to hear your issue sir, but perhaps a visit to a knowledgable body shop might be the answer. At least so you can know what's wrong with it anyhow but hopefully to fix it.

Not a fan boy either. This is actually my first Honda I've ever owned. I'm mostly a Subaru fan boy. Just asking about the mechanics.

Hope you have a lawyer, lemon law claims are actually seldom successful except with total power train failure.. And You will need a experienced lemon law layer and you will be out of pocket to him.. Last I dealt with it about 1500 bucks minimum..

Wrong. Read Florida lemon law, it's one of the strictest in the nation.

The key will be how "substantial" is construed. Good luck and sorry you are having a problem.
