How do you wax a Fit without getting white dried wax all over the matte black trim pieces?

Use the Meguiar liquid waxes, they don't stain trim

Turtle Wax "ICE" works great. Leaves no white residue on the black parts.

Works great on the Harley, too.

All the 'Wax as you Dry' products don't leave a white residue on unpainted plastic, either.

x2 on the Turtlewax ICE, I use that on my CR-V which has a LOT of unpainted plastic.

I recommend these products as they are low in abrasion and won't damage clear coats. For the best pre-wax prep, try a clay bar kit.

use modern technology.

Prima Hydro Max.. it's a spray sealant that will last months. u can use it on paint, glass, trims, seals, etc.

.. or if u must use ur wax, use masking tape blue. i use it all the time when using polish with my random orbital.

To contribute prodctively..

I've used a product called "Race Glaze" with good results, its a very wipe-on --- Wipe off product fairly low energy to do it. Not like a hand wax and polish It also rejects tar and pitch nicely if you live where thats a problem.

Check out Meguiar's D15601 gallon if you want an ecomical amount for spray on wax. It's the same as their "quick wax".

There has to be a Karate Kid "wax on wax off" joke somewhere in this.

I don't wax. I use BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal Paint Sealant. It's wipe on, walk away. No buffing after application. I put it on the paint, glass and plastic.

My car is not garaged, not even in a carport. It's in the brutal SE Forida sun and rain 24/7/365. One application three months ago and it still looks great. An 8 oz bottle will last many years.

Best I have ever used. Works great on the trim and even on the rally stripes on the Camaro. The only wax I can use on the stripes and not leave streaks.

3M synthetic is my choice of wax and I've tried tons of them. Hard to find in stores, so get it off Am@zon.

Tape off plastic trim.

That's probably more time consuming than most want to do.

I'm going to spend a few weekends this summer taping/polishing/sealing/waxing/untaping my various automobiles.
