Oil change No. 2: 10,571 miles

I was a bit surprised by how far I got this time, 18097 on the odometer. My first change was done at about 7500 on the odometer with 5% on the gauge. I did a lot of highway driving this time including a 3200-mile road trip the week before last that started at 30% and ended at 5%. I had an appointment with Honda for an oil change this weekend but on Monday night the gauge hit zero then went into negative territory, counting down each mile past zero. I wasn’t expecting that. I got to the dealer Tuesday morning at -22 miles.

I'm around 8500 miles since my last oil change. I'm at 30% and want to go another 3500 so I can do my next service at the 20,000 mile mark. Last time, they changed the oil and filter, rotated the tires, did a multi-point inspection, and washed the car for $42. Did they give you the same deal?

Exactly, plus the rear door recall and an issue with the roof molding. Price was not bad really but dealer plays the long con, wants you back for the big bucks later.

One other thing: when I got home I reflexively tapped my pocket and the fob was not there, and I had a moment of pure horror when I realized the porter never gave me anything. But the cup holder was the first place I looked and it was right there, so logical.
