Steering wheel won't lock

So yesterday I was snooping around the 2016 fit ex-l and trying to set everything up to conver all my lights to LED's and notice that while the car is off I can still turn my steering wheel to any direction without it locking in place. I don't know if that's normal or not for the fit but wouldn't this be a theft issue? I really just want to know if this is normal or not before I call my dealer. Thank you guys

im pretty sure mine locks because sometimes when i put the key in i have to turn the wheel a bit to relive tension on the lock.. but i am going from memeory and not near the car...i think it should lock at some point.

I don't think the EX-L has a steering wheel lock because of the smart key system. Because then you'd need to turn the wheel while pushing the start button.

I could be wrong. I never lock my wheel.

No column lock if you have pushbutton start.
EDIT: CVT trans has no column lock. Manual trans cars may have a column lock.

If you have to use a regular key in the ignition to start the car it will have a column lock.
