oil level question

Dear Forum, i just did 30k (about 18k miles) scheduled service with my local dealer, but i checked the oil level and i found that it's a little uper on the mark just as the arrow of picture shows

http://c2n.me/3GLlyN0

is that normal? or it can affect on idle RPM or somethinge else?

i also noted a poor or slow advance when i push the throttle, so i need to put more force into it in order to gain speed, this issue is already present before the service, is just like the oil viscosity is higher than original one, any comment are welcome,,, tnx

My oil level was the same as the one pictured in your photo when I got the car brand new: just above the top. Never had issues with that.

Same here and I've had 2 oil changes done at the dealer since last Jan. I'm due for another change in a few weeks so maybe I'll ask the service manager about it even though I've had no problems with what visually looks like overfills.

I'm impressed that you guys can read your dipstick. My dipstick confirms there is oil in the engine, but I have no idea how much.

I hate the plastic tipped dipsticks ....all metal with some scores or notches in the metal to show low and full would be preferable....to me, anyway...and I've always wondered, since this a plastic bit attached to metal, if it falls off into the oil pan, is there any threat of damage....I tend to overthink/worry at times

dealer often times over fill the oil by mistake.. i hate having dem work on my cars so i basically NEVER take my car in.

unless safety recall or something warranty related. slightly above is fine. one time da dealer overfilled like waaaaaay over da top dot on one of my older cars. i was like WTF

OK, cool, but.....why the stupid plastic tip??? Etched/notched metal would be so much easier to read....can it really be cheaper to attach a BS piece of plastic than to etch two marks on a full metal stick? Hell, I'd pay a few $$$ more for the car. The dipstick is shit.....god, I'm getting old and cranky, anymore

I agree about the dipstick. The all-metal dipstick in my '09 Fit was easy to read. I don't know why Honda thought they had to "improve" it. It takes me three or four tries to read the plastic dipstick and even then, I'm never sure I read it correctly.

My car is new, so the oil still look relatively clear. I found that if I wiggle the dipstick against a direct light, I can easily see the level of the oil. Guys, this thread is not worth 10 posts.

I am sure the oil filter will catch it first if that ever happens. It is large and will probably stay in the oil pan. Then you need open heart surgery to remove it.

Thanks to all by replies,

Anyway today @t 18k miles i feel unhappy with engine response, the original little 'kick' when you release the throttle was lost , a little vibration on the engine (idling) makes also visible on windshield wipers ...

could be a lot of things causing dat... anywhere from u feeding bag gas to ur ECU mapped to eco mode, dirty air filter, ur butt dyno calibration being off, to all sorts of other variables.

Are you by chance using the air conditioner? That will alter the engine response noticeably, and cut down on the rev hang (which I think may be the 'kick' you're talking about).

Vibrating wiper arms are normal on the Fit at idle, at least at times...at least it happens on mine, too.

Hello, i did already turned off my air conditioner, and the kick i'm talking about is when you are going in the road, and release the throttle before, I felt a small push or acceleration when I stopped pressing the accelerator...

I'm planning a injectors cleaning (or decarbonization), and take the car to different dealer in order they can scan the ECU thru OBD-2 may be they can find something else.

BTW: which rpm are you guys are running in idling?
