Do the USB ports on the Fit automatically start powering the devices when you start the car?


I have it plugged into my dashcam and when I start the car it does not power on the dash cam.

Forgot to add I also tried using the cigarette lighter with a USB adapter. Same result. Beginning to think its my dashcam, Mini ddpai

 

Dumb question, but...is there a power switch on the dashcam itself??? I have no idea, a Garmin is advanced as I am, and it needs to be powered on. Just asking the obvious But the USB and 12V ports power up when the car is started.....as far as atttached devices, no clue other than look for a power button on said device??

 

Ok it's probably the dash cam then. There is no on or off button.

 

Do you have any other electronic device you can plug in and verify that the USB port is actually powered??? Could be a blown fuse, I'd imagine...or bad cable???...or bad dashcam??? ...dunno, sorry. But I'd first check to ensure that the USB port is actually receiving power

I'm guessing it's your dashcam. Mine is hooked up to my fusebox.

 

It takes a few seconds for the ports to power up, but they do.

 

I haven't checked but the power comes on for the dash cam when I unplug/plug the usb. I'll have to spend some time to figure out why.
