I suppose it's relative as there are 18 year olds with nicer cars than a fit, but a new car is a luxury I've never had and i'm 42. that said, if you bought it yourself than congrats. If it was given to you, don't take it for granted and expect that everything in life will be so easy. When I was 16, I bought an old car that needed plenty of work and I learned to do it all myself without much of a budget and I value that learning experience almost more than any other as I still work on my own cars and can fix most any of it myself. It saves me alot of money and is very gratifying.

yah, if u look up there are many kids ur age driving brand new lexus and bimmers, benz, etc.

my parents gave me a new civic hb when i was in highschool, but i never considered it mine since i didnt pay for it, kept telling my buddies it was my pops car i was just borrowing.

ended up putting over 95K miles on it, it was a pos beater by the time i was done.
dealer only gave me $1500 or something for it during the trade. lol my pops was satisfied i put the car to great use.

The fact that you created an account just to post this, leads me to believe your friends aren't wrong...

Your friends entertain an uncommon misconception.

If nobody has said this yet, let me be the first... Welcome to life.

You're 18 and should consider it a learning experience. If you paid for it, be proud. If it was a gift, be thankful. For many people lucky enough to own a nice car at 18, it may be the nicest car you own until you're in your 30's. It's shocking how life will find a way to take every last cent you earn.

I've listened for years as construction guys buy $60,000 trucks, yet their company moves all the equipment for them and they have no need for 400hp and 900 foot pounds of torque. Then they complain that executives have $40,000 BMW's. You'll find out that it never ends..

I'm going to dispense with any psychological evaluation or life affirming pep talk based on the OP's single sentence query.

But since a question has been asked,

I'm just going to say...Yes, you're spoiled. And your friends aren't too bright.

Strive for more.

hahahahahahahahahahahahha......
