Specifically for the 2015-2017 Fit:
Previously I had a sedan and had difficulties transporting bicycles, so I installed a trailer hitch and hitch-based bike rack. This worked very well. Now that I have a Tardis-like Fit, which can hold 3 bikes inside the hatch, this is not as big an issue. Still, I'd like the option.
It looks like the Fit Owners Manual is contradictory. In one paragraph it says "If your vehicle will be towing a trailer...", which implies that the car has the ability and option to tow a trailer. A couple of lines down it then says "Your vehicle is not designed to tow a trailer. Attempting to do so can void your warranties." Does this mean that the Fit is not designed to tow a trailer, but if you wish you can take the chance. If something goes wrong your warranty can be voided?

If you lived in Europe, apparently you are allowed to tow with a Fit. There are several threads on this.
Judging by the threads on this site, lots of people tow with their Fits.
