Oil Life Indicator Reset - MT

The car just got its first oil change. I have put only 2600 miles on it in the year that I have owned it. The oil life indicator was at 60%.
I see YouTube tutorials for how to do the reset on CVTs but not for the MT.
I started the car and depressed the button. The indicator started to flicker after 10 seconds or so. Nothing else happened after that.
Enlighten me.

I did that, pressing the darn thing for an eternity. It kept flashing and never reset itself.

See your owners manual....2016? Page 358

---

Turn ignition ON

Press button to cycle the display from miles/trips to oil life.
(seems like I remember not being able to start a reset procedure with the display showing oil life, it must be cycled before doing the reset...now flipping through the displays has become habit)

Press reset button and hold until the display flashes

after it is flashing, let go of the button and immediately press it again, hold it in until the display resets to show 100%.

Each of those steps is maybe 10 seconds.
