Potential fix for sagging fender liners

I have a new (600 miles) 2018 Fit Sport 6M. And yup, the rear fender liners are sagging. But I think I found a DIY fix. I won't say it is definitely a fix, because I just did it today so I need to wait a while and see how it holds up.

I bought some "Extreme Outdoor" Velcro. It claims to have a heavy-duty adhesive that sticks to rough surfaces and is good from 0 degrees to 150 degrees. I determined which spots along the fender liner I wanted to secure, and used a cloth to wipe off the inside surface of the fender. Then I cut strips of the Velcro that were about 1" wide by 2" long (the Velcro comes in strips that are 2" X 4", so I just cut across at 1" intervals). After pairing up a set of Velcro strips (fuzzy side and hook side), I peeled off the backing on one side, and stuck the pair to the fender liner. Then I peeled off the other backing, and squeezed everything against the inside fender surface.

So far, it seems to be holding very securely. We shall see what happens after I drive in the rain, or after the winter. But even if the adhesive fails after a few months and I have to re-do it, it won't be so bad, because it takes just a few minutes.

Mine is made in Mexico. I think the fender liner issue is a design flaw, not a manufacturing defect. The fit and finish on the car are excellent all around.
