Takata Air Bags

Got a notice in the mail (from AirBagRecall.com), stating that my vehicle has one or more Takata air bags.
Now, I am not aware that this is the case. Checking around online does not indicate this or any other active recalls.
I had thought Honda moved away from Takata's products a few years ago.
Is this not the case?

Check your VIN for any needed recalls at
recalls.honda.com (USA)
honda.ca/recalls (Canada)

Do check back every now and then, new recalls are always being issued and old recalls continue expanding (especially the Takata recalls)

What year is your vehicle?

My understanding is the recall covers cars through 2013, and our GK is not involved. I'm pretty sure the airbags are not Takata.

I have a 2017 EX.
I'm in agreement all around. I'll check with the dealer and run the VIN through the websites.
It's strange, though, since my understanding is that this generation of the FIT is not supposed to be affected by any Takata product.

Agreed, that's weird. Honda used exclusively TRW airbag components since the GK redesign.

I checked and my ‘15 isn’t under any recalls. I still get notifications for my ‘09 Fit even though I’ve notified the NHTSA and Honda that I no longer own the car.

The new owner needs to notify Honda that they are the new owner of the car.

I can't help there, as I traded the car back to the dealer, and they sold it to the current owner.

I wonder if you can call Hondas customer assistance hotline and let them know you no longer own the car in question (have the VIN handy).... Maybe that will encourage the manufacturer to seek the new owner info through dealership VIN records or maybe state license plate registrations...or something.

I'd assume nobody at the dealer will ever update the new owners info with Honda corporate (seems like it should have been as easy as a pushing a couple more buttons when the car was resold, but IDK) and the NHTSA probably doesn't have the resources to care about who owns it now either.
