Decision time

Hey all,

new here, I’m debating between getting a 2017 Fit Ex (36 miles) or 2018 Fit Sport (50miles) both are white, both are manual. Bought are priced roughly the same. Is there one that is better than the other? Should I grab the cheaper of the 2 (roughly $500 cheaper for the 17’).

I went from a 2015 LX to a 2018 EX and I hardly consider them the same model of car. Does the 2018 have Honda Sense or anything else? I cannot remember exactly how they come and believe there are a few big option decisions.

I look at the 2017 as a two year old car that comes from before the refresh. If the dealer gives it to you for $16,000, maybe... but I'm not even sure that is a good enough deal.

Just a random opinion...

Price in the RT cost difference to destination and back too. I would consider a local car that does not meet your criteria 100% as well.

I'd get the 18. Personally I like the Sport better. Besides a couple years down the road the 18 will be worth more because it's a year newer

I'd get the 2017 because the EX trim is better equipped.

I'd get the 2017 also due to it being an EX, nicer trim IMO. Although it will deprecate more once you drive it off the lot. If you keep your cars a long time as I do that shouldn't matter.

Get the EX. It has a Sunroof. The Sport does not.

I’ve read that the 2018 sport bumper will need some adjustments for it to fit the 2017. Are there any lip kits for the 2017 ex that will add some style?

It seems clear you have your mind set on one car, why not just do it?

A 500 dollar price difference wouldn't be a determining factor to me.
So to me?
It just comes down to which one YOU want.

Personally I think the EX trim is nicer.
But if the Sport Trim look is what you want?

Nobody can make that decision for you.
Neither choice is wrong.

Thanks y’all, I think I’m going to go with the sport most likely. I think it just looks more appealing to me, I don’t want to kick myself in the ass later on lol. I’ll keep all of y’all posted when I join the Fit Fam ❤️

I hate sunroofs, mostly due to headroom but also future leak potential. Convertible yes! Sunroof no.

There is not much about the EX I would like, so for me the Sport would be the logical choice. 500$ for one model year newer makes sense to me. But you should choose the one with the features you want, in the end, that is going to matter more to you than $500.

yah, im not much of a sunroof guy either. ive only used the sunroof on the GK once since taking ownership just to ensure that it too wasnt broken like the window regulator on the driver side glass which nearly dropped the glass out of the window frame.

my dd has a sunroof but only used it once just to check that it works. my other cars dont have sunroofs and i likes.

the one thing id miss on the sport is the push-button start. that is a requirement for a modern day car imho.. but then again we are talking about a Fit so..
