Upgrade 2015 to car play radio

I took my 2015 EX to get an upgraded car radio because I really want apple play and I was told that if I did that I would lose the safety features, which I took to mean the right-turn camera and backup camera. Is there really no way to do this?

You could get a newer radio from Honda (Junkyard) that will have the newest features.

Lookup some my responses on this topic. It can't be done, swapping a 2018 HU into a 2015-2017. Security anti theft features and VIN# is married to the head unit. Either deal with the 2015 HU and add external amps and speakers, or go aftermarket HU and forget the lanewatch camera and trip computer. Im hopeful aftermarket HU in the future will support these features and others at some point.

Nobody likes me when I say this but just save your money and make plans to buy a newer car down the road.. Pouring money and effort into trying to upgrade an older Fit is not a worthwhile idea.

I'm in full agreement with what woof said.

BUT ... one thing I'd like to throw out there, although the MY is 2015, and 3 yrs old, it technically is "NEW/CURRENT" Imo because its a GK5. I feel that, when/if the 2019s go out of style, the entire gen goes out of style... including the 2015s. That said, its not all THAT OLD =)

Back on topic, on your next car purchase, I hope it sure as heck comes with apple play .... or ya know .... you moved onto something else (like android) or stop caring

agreed. or just get some cheap aftermarket HU with carplay to use in the mean time. carplay/AA is overrated imho unless u constantly need to use nav.

Just get one of those magnetic mounts for your phone and mount your phone on your dash. Boom apple or android car play. Saved you $18k.
