hey guys, i have 2018 fit sports 6MT..

Today, i jacked up my car to do a oil change and saw couple of rusts....

This was first time actually seeing underneath of my car so i was little worried about all those rusts...

I live in NYC so salts are probably main cause of this ...

is there anyway to prevent / fix those rusts ?

I really dun think its effecting the vehicle that much but seeing actual rusts worries me...

 

That kind of rust isn't unusual but I would say it's unusual for a 1 year old car.

Your parking space is probably very humid. Get an anti-rust done like Krown products or something.

Not surprised about the axle but the frame is a little odd. Does it get parked in tall grass? Nothing to worry about just part of the great North East.

Make sure when it gets driven in the salt that you wash the undercarriage when the salt is gone. The stuff they use nowadays seems to be extra corrosive or something.

 

i bought it used and i guess the previous owner provide over salt couple of times ..

it doesn't look that bad but i do want to keep my eyes on it just in case.

what does ppl do once rust forms? is there any rust remover ?
