Adding a power outlet to trunk.

I want to add a 12V power outlet to the trunk of my GK5. If anyone has done it previously, I'd be glad to hear. Specifically I have two things I'd like to know:
1. Is there suitable place to get permanent power from fuse box or shall I wire power from the battery? Easiest would be to get power from the cable feeding the 12V outlet on center console, but that is switched power, not permanent.
2. How to remove plastic upholstery from the left doorsill without breaking anything? I prefer to route the power cable together with the original wires.

I found instructions how to remove the door sill trim panels as part of the door sill illumination installation procedure.

Now I need to find electric diagram or other information where I could get the power. I would appreciate any information on this.

Might be easier to tuck it into the headliner.

The wires. I read that it's quite easy to tuck them behind trim pieces

Thank you, but I already found the instructions to remove the door sill trim panels to route the wire with factory cables.
I still haven't found out where to get the permanent power for the outlet.

Permanent as in always on, even if car isn't running? If probably just go straight to the battery if that's the case.

Yes, always on. I'd like to know if there is a handy place to take out always on power from the fuse box undewr the dash or around it. So that I wouldn't need to route a wire from the battery through the firewall.

Actually very cool, as the outlet is primarily intended for a coolbox

I don't have the panel in front of me but a lot of times there are unused fuse holes that are active. Just find one that has power with the key off and put in a fuse tap. I have literally just put the wire in the "dead" side and inserted a fuse to hold the wire in place but fuse taps are more elegant.
