Brian,
Honda has indicated that the possible reason for the Fit's delay has been one of paint quality issues. With this in mind, could you comment critically on the paint quality of your car? I don't see any flaws across the exterior surfaces, looking directly on and at an acute angle to the light. Also didn't see any issues with doors, moonroof, or hood opened. Paint is bright, high shine, and appears uniform in color. Without more information to go on, I would not suspect a paint issue. Front edge looks fine, but still have less than 1,000 miles on the car. Sorry, (and I guess very good for me) I don't see any issues with the paint. But now I will be looking at it more closely from now on, so thanks. ;) Who knows, one report by a dealer may mean nothing, with all of the FUD that has been stated by dealers so far. Or the car was fixed at the factory. Or there never was a paint problem. Or red cars were not affected. Or only one batch built over St. Patrick's Day was affected. Or I will see a paint issue at 36,0001 miles or 36 months + 1 day. Or 1,000 other factors. :violin: |
Thanks again Brian--great information. Here's the link to the owner's manual:

I will be putting 30% tint all around as soon as I get mine. Never had a problem with my 2009 Pilot or 2013 Accord being that dark and it looks awesome!

How is the quality of the EX interior and the seats? Any chance to get pics of them?

Also make sure to sit in the driver seat and work the seat and steering wheel adjustments to see if the Fit is a "fit" for you. |

That is really subjective. Interior seems higher quality, more finished than prior model. With dofferent storage areas. Please look through this thread I have provided many pictures. With Fits showing up at dealers this week you can judge for yourself if the quality meets your needs.
Also make sure to sit in the driver seat and work the seat and steering wheel adjustments to see if the Fit is a "fit" for you. I guess I could rephrase it to "do the seats feel or look cheap". I love the seats my '97 Accord has, nice cloth and still holding up pretty darn well so I don't consider them to be low quality at all. Some of the newer vehicles though the fabric used seems to be stiffer and not as comfy as older ones were. That's more of what I am looking at your opinion of. I'm hoping that this week or next we start to see some up here in Alaska at the dealership so I can look in person. Until then you all are my eyes! |
