I think that you are stepping on Brian's willingness to help our community a bit too hard asking him to drive a certain way for you.

I can tell you from 35,000 miles of experience with my honda CR-Z that the Econ button does make the car drive like a slug because of the reduced throttle sensitivity and results in absolutely zero fuel economy improvement for me. for someone else's driving style it could make a 1 or 2 mpg difference. But no one on the CRZ forums has ever reported any significant increase in fuel economy from the Econ button.

Here is a link to the CR-Z forum thread about using the Econ vs sport modes:

Sorry, maybe it was too much! Didn't mean to offend!

Thanks for the ECO info, kind of disappointing it doesn't help,

I wonder if Honda wanting them back had anything to do with the announcement today that Honda is providing free roadside assistance for 3 years on all new 2015 and later Honda's. It is an OnStar like service.

Have you seen the pages of pics I already have posted here? ;)

Not too much to add at this point, until I get the windows tinted or accessories installed (on order, no ship date yet). Be patient and I'll see if there is anything else interesting to show. I'm an owner (I guess, THE owner), and willing to continue to share new and interesting findings, but I'm not a test drive center.

One thing I'll post this weekend is a photo of the wireless charger I'm installing on the air vent above the screen. Looks like a good location on horizontal orientation for my BlackBerry. With Bluetooth connection to the audio system, this gives a good view of the phone and its nav system, fast connect/disconnect, and keeps all of the storage areas free.

Saw Honda was doing this for all of their 2015 models, including the Fit and Civic now and whatever other 2015 models they release. So I wouldn't draw a connection with the take back issue.

And given Honda's reputation for high quality, this is probably a low risk benefit for them to offer on their newest cars. Makes the competition have to offer something similar or offset this benefit with something else.

Yes  , have seen the other pics and enjoyed those . I should of been more clear , was referring to more photos of the gas mileage display . Thanks for all the input . :thumbups:

Thanks for the photos. I haven't seen a new 2015 Fit on the roads in SD yet but I'm always keeping a lookout.

Mission Valley Honda was where I got my 2013 Fit last May. I would have waited but my 2000 Civic was on the fritz and the dealer actually gave me 3K trade-in for the car. Overall it was a really good deal that I couldn't pass up.

My next car will probably be a Fit as well, or Fit-based as in the HR-V.

Hi gang,
Here is another update on the 2015 Fit.

Lights; headlights low and high. Tail lights. Sorry the night photo quality is not so good, the phone camera doesn't have the wide contrast range of my eyes. At night, the leds were individually visible in the tail lights.

Window tinting from Bumper Doc in San Diego. 70% tint on the front windows (CA legal) and 28% on the rear windows. The front windows look darker because they are in shadow and I was using a windshield shade. Love the look.

Wireless cellphone charger mount, attached to the air vent, plugged into the USB plug. In the horizontal orientation, the phone is easily visible (for nav) but doesn't block any of the windshield or any instruments. Choetech unit from Amazon.

Damn that tint looks sweet! Thanks for the night time shots Brian. I didn't know u can have front windows tinted in CA.

Emirii 06-06-2014 11:51 PM

Thanks for the tint info! I have no clue about what's-what with tint, but now I'm going to ask for that! LOL

john21031 06-07-2014 12:59 AM

Front windows can not be tinted in California (half way down the page http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/answers.html).

Rear and side read any darkness but if the rear is tinted, the car has to have side mirrors.
Surprised the Fit doesn't have leather steering wheel.
Thanks for the photos.

This is a funny subject, and California specific, and kind of off topic, so let's not slip into debates. Google "window tint California law" and you will get lots of conflicting answers. There is what is written and what is enforced. 70% on front windows (none on windshield) seems to be a safe level that avoids unwanted attention.

:offtopic:

john21031 06-07-2014 01:37 AM

It's not about what is "enforced" or what you google. Look at California Vehicle Code and see for yourself that it is ILLEGAL to tint windows on the side. It is certainly up to you. But just because you don't like to be pointed out to your spreading of misinformation doesn't mean it's "getting off topic".

Check your facts before posting and especially defending your inaccurate position. We certainly don't want people getting tickets because they read false information on this board. Feel free to get back to the topic, if you stick to your own principles.
By the way, just because you are the first person who posted pictures of 2015 Fit on this board, does not mean you are the first to take the delivery in the US as your signature claims. Most people who own and buy these cars do not post on message boards like this.

No debate needed as the California Vehicle Code, section 26708 states it very understandably:

(d) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), clear, colorless, and transparent material may be installed, affixed, or applied to the front side windows, located to the immediate left and right of the front seat if the following conditions are met: (1) The material has a minimum visible light transmittance of 88 percent. (2) The window glazing with the material applied meets all requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205 (49 C.F.R. 571.205), including the specified minimum light transmittance of 70 percent and the abrasion resistance of AS-14 glazing, as specified in that federal standard. (3) The material is designed and manufactured to enhance the ability of the existing window glass to block the sun's harmful ultraviolet A rays. (4) The driver has in his or her possession, or within the vehicle, a certificate signed by the installing company certifying that the windows with the material installed meet the requirements of this subdivision and the certificate identifies the installing company and the material's manufacturer by full name and street address, or, if the material was installed by the vehicle owner, a certificate signed by the material's manufacturer certifying that the windows with the material installed according to manufacturer's instructions meet the requirements of this subdivision and the certificate identifies the material's manufacturer by full name and street address.
Short version: If the tinting company gives you that certificate, you're legal!

Thanks for posting. This means technically that a film may be applied to the side windows though it is not tinted. 88% or 70%, as far as I remember hearing, is the standard clear manufactured automotive glass. All glass restricts some light so no glass can ever be 100% transparent.

I think so many people disregard the law here in California that I would encourage police departments to crack down on offending drivers as a way of improving police department budgets and in the mean time helping to increase safety not just for police officers but also for other drivers as well.

Are the windows tinted?

sooznd 06-07-2014 10:14 AM

How does it Compare to GE model?

Brian- thanks for taking the time to post all the photos and answer all our questions.

Did you have a Fit before this one- if not, had you driven a GE-wondering how it compares? Specifically -road noise, seat comfort, acceleration, braking, turning.:vtec:
