Great job and ahead of embargo. Was hoping that perimeter entry/push button start would be a standard feature, but it looks like only the EX will be getting it. Not only will I have to pay more but have to live with that sunroof which I will hardly use.
Still, at $17,435, looks like I may have enough to get a set of rims (16").
Will let the dealership know tommorrow that it will be a White EX manual. Thanks a zillion. You and accordguyintake have made my week.

Really wanted the EX... But I'm 6'5" and that moonroof might cut into my headroom. Gotta wait to test drive I guess! Would be a shame to have to downgrade because of it.

Solution will cost less than $600. Clazzio leather seat kit from Ebay. There tons of them. Am sure they'll put out at version for GK's shortly. As for me, leather seats under our hot sun don't mix.

LX vs EX didn't mention anything about any body, suspension, or interior seat or upholstery upgrades? Maybe better off with an LX and roll your own wheels?

I hope you're right. I love the Clazzio's in my 2012. The only thing that worries me is that they seem to only (I think) make the Clazzio's for cars that aren't available with leather seats from the factory. Since you'll be able to get the Fit with leather seats now I wonder if Clazzio will still make them.

If they are interested in making a profit, they likely will. Its foreseable that Honda's product mix, likely, would see them selling a larger proportion of LX's and non-leather EX's (EX-L carries a $1,565 and $2,565 premium and only w/ CVT).
However, for the sake of number pushing, let's assume a 50-50 mix between leather and non-leather models.
Last year, Honda sold approx 57k fits for NA. And Clazzio made those leather kits.
Assume 50% of projected GK prod of 200k, therefore sales of 100K units for 2014 in NA.
Assuming a product mix of 50% or 50,000 units of cloth LX and EX that will be looking for leather kits. If Clazzio is interested in making money, GK leather kits should inevitably be available!!!!

IMO, the LX, LX-CVT, EX and EX-CVT will end up with the largest share of the product mix. All have the right standard accessories and terrific price points. The competition is going to resort to promo discounts much earlier this year.

That's really awesome news about the EX with the sunroof - that's a perfect sweet spot. I'm psyched. Also glad that the "upgrade" of the shiftknob didn't happen until the EX-L (a Spoon duracon like in my CRX will be a likely first purchase). Leather steering wheel would have been nice in the EX, but I guess that could be changed too.

If Clazzio won't do it, there's always Classic Soft Trim. They did a great job on my Benz (which will be the car I drop when I get the Fit later this year or early next).

Weird about the EX-L not being available in a manny, but with the way the US market is going, I'm not totally surprised.

I'm hoping to buy the new Fit soon. Doing some rough calculations I'm expecting the OTD to be around $19,000 including tax, tag, title, dealer fees etc..

Orlando, FL
2015 Honda Fit EX Manual
Invoice: $17,135 (Guesstimating $300 less than MSRP)
Destination: $790
Placeholder for TTL, dealer fees, etc: $500
Holdback $348
Sales Tax 6%
Total car price: $19,182

What you guys think?

You have excellent decision making talents!!!! Devised a purchase strategy, identified your price parameters (which I think are realistic), considered all other non-vehicle costs. Dude, you have your act together!!! My advise, don't give up your pre-set goals if the first couple of dealers turn you down. Am sure one of them will bite. Tip: negotiate at month end.
Am sure that the first few months, few deals to be had. (typical supply and demand scenario) That should lighten up quickly.

Solution: EX-manual. Add Clazzio leather seat kit (less than $600). Add your aftermarket 7" LCD GPS of choice.
Your problem is now solved - cheaper at that!!!

And do you think I can hold off either????
Alas, have no choice. You mainlanders are getting the first batch immediately. We may be getting some of that but they've got to travel over water. So arrival May/June.
What I lack with your well-written out game plan, I make up for in decisive forward thinking. As mentioned in my other posts, wrote up my deal last Feb. Its gonna be a WHITE one boys!!!!!!!!!
This is the first time I will be buying a new car at full MSRP!!!!!!!! A miracle for someone as cheap as me.
