Your Fit is looking goooood :) If I were you, I'd consider buying a $7 rattlecan of PlastiDip, popping off those 2 red fake reflectors (just 2 nuts and a "guide pin" of sorts per piece) up the sides of the hatch and spraying several coats on.....those things are absolutely pointless, imho, they don't flow, just end abruptly squared off, and possess neither lights nor a reflective surface - guess they kinda sorta wanted it to look CRV-ish? Dunno. Did this on my black '15, and I love it......just an idea

Thank you for your feedback. I was wondering about those "lenses" on the sides of the hatch. I like the idea of PlastiDip-ing them; I may explore it.

On my daily commute today (about 40 minutes each way), I found the Eibachs to be an easy riding set of springs. IMO the ride is only slightly more firm than OEM. On rougher pavement I actually prefer the feel of the Eibachs, and of course when cornering they are waaay better than stock. I took a few pics to compare the before and after.

With regards to the reflectors... I’ve been eyeballing the 2018+ RS LEDs from Japan. Quite the investment but ohhh boy are they pretty. They have blacked out sections that totally change the shape of the lamp and of course they have the sweet LED lines.

Downside? They cost at least two fit monthly payments!

FWIW, this week I have been working on upgrading the stock audio system, replacing the stock speakers and adding a powered subwoofer. I am documenting that install here.

UnFitRick 07-23-2018 07:12 PM

Installed a set of today along with some black hex key lug nuts.

FWIW, I put some anti-seize on the mating surfaces before installing
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...e2ac3ddfff.jpg

It definitely looks better, but under heavy compression on either side I can hear some (not much) rubbing. I believe it may be coming from the (fabric-ish?) wheel well liners. At the top of the wheel wells, the liners don't sit flat against the fender like it seems they should.

I like the look of the black lug nuts too. The ad said they were "closed end", but they are in fact open all the way thru. Also, I just reread the ad and it says "Oversized and taper to ensure best contact design for aftermarket wheels not for factory oem wheels..." Hmmm... https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...f0a218198d.jpg

Yes OEM wheel use a ball seat while aftermarket wheels are acorn usually. Very important they match or they will come loose!

I have a set of Honda OEM lugnuts that are black. The only car they were available on was the NSX but I ordered them from local dealer and price was not bad.

Rick remove the lugs ASAP! Not safe. Honda’s use very specific lug shape.

You are stuck buying the black ones from Honda. Gorilla makes some as well if you check their website.

You ou are not fully sealed off with those lugs!!!

Alfa38 07-23-2018 09:22 PM

Not a lot of choice for the proper lug nuts, but these would work:

Yes, yes, yes... Everyone stand down... Already removed them... Booger!

Yes, Gorilla makes ball seat locking lugs that work (p/n 38431XLBC for black chrome ones). That takes care of 4 lugs. For the rest you need p/n 38138BC which are the black chrome lug nuts. Let me know if you find them in stock somewhere, I didn't have any luck a few weeks ago when I did the research.

The Honda option is $32 per wheel (but doesn't include locks): https://www.collegehillshonda.com/pr...2-TGG-100.html

The set in the pic contains all locking lug nuts...

Helios 07-24-2018 10:29 AM

Sorry, I thought it was normal to just put one locking lug on each wheel. So you can use one key for the whole car, instead of 4 different keys.

Do you have a number for that? Or is it just buy 4 sets of the 38431XLBC part number? Looks like in that pic it is all in one so you should be able to use the same key.

Answered my own question. I'll just sit here and talk to myself. lol
