2015 Honda Fit Rear Air Shock Absorbers/Front Lift
2015 Honda Fit Rear Air Shock Absorbers/Front Lift
Hey all,
This is my first thread and first time joining the fit forum. Glad to see some other people enjoy these little economy cars.
First off, I have a 2015 Fit Ex, and very large tires. I have 225 45 R18. Somehow they fit... The rear does not rub, nor does the front when turning, but when I hit bumps the front scrapes the wheel well. I am going to custom fabricate a dirtbike carrier for the rear and I have been looking into air shocks for the back to compensate for the load.
So far I've found the Monroe shocks have been discontinued, bummer.
Furthermore I need to lift the front so the tires don't rub. I have looked into the coil spring booster and have heard some pretty negative reviews.
If anyone can help my find a proper way to lift the front, and set of rear air shock absorbers that would be much appreciated.
Stay safe everyone.
Thanks.
(Addition)
Stiffer springs would also work in my case to get more wheel clearance and less squishy scrapes, can’t seem to find any different springs for the Fit.

As for the dirt bike, how about a tow hitch from etrailer and a small trailer from Harbor Freight? That would take the full load off the rear wheels.

I was planning on using the same mounting locations as the trailer hitches along with some mounts to the rear crash bar. I'm sure I could make it sturdy enough with about $200 in materials.
Still need some way to take the load off of the rear suspension, things like this make me wish I had a truck.
Air shocks seem like my best option, I would use the OEM in the winter months when the dirtbike is sitting inside and when I swap tires I would simply swap shocks too, if only I could find a set...
The MA809s will fit the GK suspension with some minor modification, but it will not increase your load capacity. I would not do what you suggest. Get a trailer instead. Will be better for the car in the long run. Also if you have a CVT you need a transmission intercooler.
R18 rims? and they fit?? Damn. Impressive. They do have air bag systems for the front and rear, but probably as much as your trailer if not more. I dont think you are going to get away cheap regardless.

How difficult is it to run a transmission cooler? Is it as simple as mounting it and running some lines?
My 2017 thread has the mods needed. I havent done an updated video for the 809s but the writeup is good.
I have a 6MT so dont know exactly what is involved but yes mounting and running lines in-between the tranny is what is involved.

Could you send me the link to your thread, I'd love to look into how you've done it. Thanks.
