Best All Weather Tires on '16 Fit EX

Hey all, I'm new to the Fit Freak forum (thanks for having me!) and I recently bought my first back in April of this year. A 2016 Honda Fit EX trim w/ ~54,000 on it as of right now in December. I've noticed from my own experience, and from reading a couple of these threads that the tires on the Fit's run a bit narrow resulting in the driver feeling every bump in the road.

I'm about to get a set of new all-weather tires for my fit, but don't know where to begin. What would people recommend for a good tire thats both reliable and provides a slightly more cushioned ride?

For Context: Here's a picture of the tire that I currently have on my Fit:

I'm biased here because my top priority with tires is traction. Far above road noise, harshness, treadwear, etc. Especially wet weather traction, you can spend hours reading tire comparison testing at tirerack and look at both subjective opinion and actual skidpad numbers wet and dry.

My car has these BF Goodrich on it right now.

Never seen better grip from an all season tire, it's about as good on dry roads as their summer performance model but way better in the wet. There's an updated version that's supposed to have a new rubber compound for improved snow traction, but I have a second set of wheels with Blizzaks, so I didn't bother. They're actually not bad for harshness and road noise, either.

Edit- that's actually the improved version in the link, I got cheaper ones without the 'plus' in the name. Still great.

I'm using Michelin X-Ice. They work awesome.

Not sure about more cushioned, but I ran 205/50/16 general altimax rt43 on the stock ex rims. I got about 50k out of them even though they were supposed to get 65k. I was not easy on the tires preferring to not use the brakes and let you tires do the work in the curves. My commute used to be a lot of back roads. The size is also slightly wider than stock while retaining similar overall diameter. They were a decent all season tire and would get them again.

Instead went with the general gmax as05 since I'm working from home 99% of the time. Plus my commute even if I go into work for cut in half since I've moved.

General G-MAX AS-05

NWCH- snow tires because of the season? Or do you mean that you run snow tires all year round? I used to swap blizzaks on and off a jetta with only one set of wheels, and thanks to a whole bunch of stuff taking up my spare time I had to leave them on one year through spring and halfway into the summer. Put four winters worth of wear on them in just a few extra months, after that I made sure to have my snows on spare wheels.

I used Tire Rack also. I went with Michelins, and they do everything better than the OEM tires. Not cheap, however.

By far the best tires I have found for my Fit is 205-50-16 Continental extreme contact DWS..Absolutely best for wet traction at 75 plus on I-75 and the Turnpike. Never seen snow so I can't comment on that but quiet at high speeds. I've put them on a 1990 and a 2006 Miata too and it made it into the Racer it was designed for. Really made a noticeable difference in how my 2015 EX Fit handled and in the few absolute panic stops I have had I was shocked by how fast I stopped and short the distance was.

No I run snow tires only in the winter obviously.

I replaced my stock (Firestones) tires last week after 5.5 years and 48k miles with a little bit of tread life on them. I was about to go with Michelin Premiers but they were almost 160 per tire at my local place. I decided to go with the General Altimax RT43 which I had a deal for around 90 per tire. I was surprised by the reduction in tire/road noise. Seems to work well around the city and has handled the recent rains well. I have not noticed a reduction in MPG either - I've been getting 42-44 mpg highway before and after.

Meant to reply a few days ago-

It's not actually so obvious anymore about snow tires, or snow rated tires at least. I just put a set of Michelin Crossclimate on a Ridgeline, they're all season but they have the symbol for snow rating on them. I run the newer version of Blizzak now, and even though X-Ice shows up in comparison tests with them sometimes, I never looked into them being dedicated winter or snow rated but more biased towards being a year round tire. Them being mentioned in a thread about all season tires made me wonder.
