Since the caliper is rotated up and out (with the pads removed) a 6 C-clamp is used to hold the piston in while the system is bled. Notice that the caliper has to rotate far enough so the bleed bolt is above horizontal (facing upwards slightly).

This is from the back side so you can see that the caliper has to be removed from its original ears and move to the top one. Also the bottom bolt has to be removed from the lower caliper pin (caliper-to-bracket bolt) so it can be rotated out.
