Initial Tank From Dealer?
Initial Tank From Dealer?
Is there anything special about the initial tank of gas you get from the dealer? I traded in my 2016 Fit LX for a 2019 Fit EX, and my initial tank of gas has been incredible so far. I've gone 98 miles and only two ticks are gone from my gas gauge with an estimated 359 range left. Now, with my 2016 I'd often get a crazy range on a full tank but it would always be lower by the end of the tank, however by 100 miles on a tank I'd always have 4-5 ticks of the gas gauge gone. If it was just a crazy range estimate left I would just assume there would be an eventual large drop off, but only two ticks gone for 98 miles is impressive. Does the dealer fill it with special gas (pure gas maybe, non-ethanol) or something?
It may have been filled up with premium gas which often does not contain ethanol and will usually give better gas mileage than regular, but as mentioned, don't draw any hard conclusions from the gas gauge. When you start filling up you can use those numbers for a more accurate estimate of what you're getting.
