"Honda has yet detail engine options for the 2020 Fit, saying only that it will come standard with a gas motor, while a newly developed two-motor hybrid powertrain will be an option. No power or performance figures have been released."

nope its the only one being made from now on, all hybrids with different trim levels
I believe the Jazz for Europe is hybrid only. The same car badged Fit in other markets will have other options. Honda has announced a fully electrified fleet in Europe by 2022.
Exl500 I agree with you. Partially. Everything Honda has said so far is hybrid or all electric. But they aren't going to be able to sell the hybrid in emerging markets ; too costly. It will be a no brainer to have a small gas engine option a bit later.
But the engine may be too small for US on ramps and the designer already said it will need engineering changes to pass crash tssts here. There's some precedent for that, check out the ugly ge changes for North America, but then they’ll have to maintain a second production line ... I dunno it seems only likely if demand warrants it. If Hrv sales take a jump next year I’d bet against it.
Yes the Sales volume
for the Fit in the US says it all - 2019 is dismal and barring gas price increase or economic downturn, the sales (even on a refresh) will not recover.

In fairness Fit sales lost a lot of momentum when they shut down production for several months in late 2018 due to the flooding. They've never really recovered from that but to be honest they've never really tried very hard.

Yeah, with gas being so cheap it’s obvious that Honda doesn’t care about the Fit. It’s obvious that it isn’t coming to North America.
Completely a business you'd make if it was your business - sad for consumers who want a basic car. Honda is improving margins, increasing the likelihood of additional service income from the more complicated platform and battery replacement, and improving the CAFE (corporate average fuel economy) requirements for Honda - in selling a Hybrid. It's just not what I want. I wanted a basic daily driver that got great mpg, ran on 87 pump gas, and had a decent amount of room. I didn't need EX-L level gadgetry, AWD, or the headache of hybrid. Electrification is great but the cost of home charging and lack of electric infrastructure is the real truth that will keep E-cars from dominating in the next 10 years. We have little $$ for infrastructure to keep bridges and roads in shape, how can we afford to electrify (let alone boosting the e-grid infrastructure needed to do this).
