I am very new to the forum and have done my due diligence in searching but have not found many details or information on replacing the stereo infotainment system in my 2017 Fit. I want to buy a new head unit (probably Sony) that is compatible with backup camera and has Apply car play. Does anyone know if the steering wheel controls will be able to control the after market system?

Short answer, yes, it can be done, but not always easily.

 

I don't care about any of this, as I'm fairly basic and have no trouble with the standard Bluetooth audio connection.

However, as above the in car entertainment sub-sub...turtles-all-the-way-down... forum is probably your best bet. @Action Jackson has done some stereo stuff, maybe find posts by them?
