Installing Fit Sport front spoiler on 2018 Fit EX HFP
I finally got around to installing the Fit Sport Front spoiler on my 2018 Fit EX. I got the EX because I wanted the sunroof and a manual transmission and Honda Sensing which cannot be done on a Fit Sport. I also wanted the Fit Sport front spoiler. I bought the front spoiler and front lower grille and hardware from Honda Parts Now. It turns out that you do not need to buy the front grille if you are good with an Exacto knife or a Dremel as I will show. the only difference between the front grille for the Sport model and the non-sport models are 5 small openings in the bottom of the grille that the front spoiler slots into.
Here is the standard lower front grille:
Here is the Sport front grille:
Cut out the plastic in those five slots and you don't even have to remove the front bumper.
If you remove the front bumper, you need to transfer over the rubber lip and another black plastic piece to the new lower grill:
You need 5 captured nuts and 5 bolts:
You also need 4 spring clips and 4 screws for the ends:
Spoiler installed:
Success!
I also prefer the HFP side skirts to the Sport side skirts.
Next I will see if the Sport rear diffuser can be adapted to the standard rear bumper. I am hoping that the rear bumper cover is like the front lower grille - same part but trimmed.
I love the sport lip added! I'm thinking of doing similar body panel / HFP rear wing additions, and suspension drop on my GK5 LX 6sp MT. Here are some old photos, since then I've Installed the Aero roof rack bars
