Quick question about installing the OEM Sport Grille.

I received my sport grille from Honda today and I was lookin over the installation instructions and there's one part that doesn't make sense.

That part of the installation says to cut the two tabs or I won't be able to remove the bumper, which seems unnecessary for what I'm doing. It looks like that step shouldn't even be in those instructions.

Unfortunately I won't have my Fit back for two more days so I can't take a look myself so I was wondering if any of you knew if this is something I need to do or not.

Edit - I'm on mobile so I'm sorry that the picture isn't linked the right way.

Best I can tell is that the new grill is deeper and those two tabs might need shaving to let the grill sit far enough back in the opening.

I think, it's more likely that, that tab slides in a gap in the grille. Uncut, it would fit too snugly... so much, that it won't move up to release the hook. By trimming it down, it can move slightly, just enough to release the hook.

That would prevent separating of the grille from the bumper... and the grille most likely prevents, or at least, makes it harder to access other attachment points of the bumper onto the frame of the car.
