Diy billit grille help?

recently bought a polished alluminum billet grille for my o8 fit. it was a two piece one for the top on the sides of the emblem (decided not to use, also sent me the wrong match bolts and screws.) but for the bottom grille im having problems getting the bottom bigger billet grille on. I sprayed it blue with lots of clear coat (super glossy metalic look) but i can figure out how to get the oem factory grille off the front bumper. there are clips or something holding it down.....maybe paste? any help on that one?

You sure they are not overlay's? I have a set pictured below that bolt to the existing grill. If you look real close at the upper grill you will see the "H" behind the billet (That is my car in the pic). I have since installed red JDM badge that does a decent job covering it up. Do you have a link to your grill?

I thought the billit went right over the factory grills too.

ok...

so in the directions it says you have to remove the factory grille. but the thing is the description says its a bolt over.....

also they were reluctant to say it would not fit over a sport grille so basically i bought it for nothing. lame. thats too bad it would look super good

Not trying to be mean, I just think it sounds like a lot of work for something that is most likely going to look cheap and ugly... lol.

But make me a believer, install it and post a pic. I love being proved wrong.
Man that hurts! If you look at the link I listed in my above post then you will see Billet overlay on my Fit. That is my car in the pic. 2 bolts and it was installed. I installed a JDM Badge right after I took the pic for the seller and I think it looks fine and little different then everyone else as you can see it in my Sig. Do what you feel and like not what others think. It's your car.

I was not concerned about the played out billet era when I purchased because I never knew there was such a thing (yes I'm old enough to have remembered). As for the chrome rims I have no desire (maybe I will rock a chrome tooth).

I installed the lower grill first to help protect the condensor and then got the upper because it bothered me that the upper honey comb did not match the lower. I could have painted the lower black to better match but I liked the chrome against the Silver. I'm still not satisfied that it is an overlay and not a bolt on and will probably do something about that in the near future but it will do for now.

I'm not mad or trying to be mean either but the point to all of this is it's my car and I can do what my little heart desires. I do see your point and do respect it but after a while you have to respect that not everyone will see it like you. Let everyone else stay on the subtle side. I would also IF I felt it.

snuggy... Sorry for taking over your thread and do hope you figure it out. I had the same problem when I purchased the upper grill and had to return it for a full refund.

you know i have never been a huge fan of billet grills myself... i especially belive in keeping the fits pride and joy of being low weight a must. but i hate the cheesy stock grille. thats why i wanted to replace it. if you dont like em, its all good. plastic is a no no.
